LET US NOT FORGET I Our pride in arriving at assemblies last and marching out first. Mr. Janeba's unsung return from Camp Dix. The day the Good Humor man ushered in spring. The night before senior essays were due. A John Ross Burns Byers, Junior, riding to school on his bike one day, driving the Olds the next. The day Bill Wylde broke two dollars worth of chemistry equipment. Those daring girls who wore slacks to school. Our interest in banking which decreased as we became older. Trying to decide which of our pictures should adorn the year book. Grant Dugdale's butch and inevitable bow ties. Miss Butler in the library. Miss Bose's car. Mr. Moore's Your attention, please coming over the public address Our disappointment when we found that we should not be dismissed early for the gas rationing. The priorities in the library on Fridays for the latest copy of LIFE. Eleanor's Shaw's English accent. Bill Ward's campaign speech for Charles Barr. The boys being excused seventh period to distribute handbills on Na- tional Defense. Our amazement when we discovered that since there was not enough gas we really could walk to school. Mr. Kirkendall's odoriferous experiments. Mr. Kirby's glib retorts. . When we took the chemistry exam twice. Little Caesar-Nick. Miss Park in full regalia. The struggle to determine whether we should wear caps and gowns or summer formals at graduation. Those strange noises echoing through the building during the fourth pe- riods-one of Mr. Monroe's groups practicing. Miss Fletcher's interest in the world outside her window. Miss Ely and her brood. The small boy who actually wanted to come to school. Our chilly reception into R. H. S.-bad news travels fast. The night before senior essays were due. , Evelyn Bray's flowing chatter. J. J.'s baby talk. Baby Face Willis. The yo-yo fad. Dick Donnan's blink. 28
