M I LESTON ES 9-Weary Seniors come to school to recuperate from a strenuous summer vacation. IO -A kitten gaily crawls in the window of room 207--Art. Fertig and kitten gaily crawl out. II-indignant and annoyed, Seniors prepare not to do the homework assigned by cal- lous teachers. I2-Remorse!! We didn't do last night's homework. 25-Auggie Blomquist borrows a baby carriage to play a very juvenile lead as the Nation- al Honor Society sponsors Tag Day to earn money for assemblies. 27-The Seniors have a lovely time at the Soph. Social. 28-The Bulldogs and Gloria Antolini combined, dazzle Tenafly so we win our first foot- ball game I9-O. 30-Bernie Murren and his English book part company. 5-The Bulldogs baffle Lyndhurst and defeat them I4-0. 7-The members of the library council go to a meeting but end up with a party. 8--The Y-4l initiation is a howling success. The girls look positively glamourous in black stockings and overalls. IO-Miss Fletcher's fourth period study decorates Bill Shakespeare. I9-Miss Fletcher reunites Bernie and his English book. 20-The Red Cross Council gives us a double feature plus a pep talk by bashful Jack Tucek. 22-The students enjoy themselves at the P.T.A.'s parent get-together. 28-In English class we learn about Bath buns, and Lenny Van Eck thinks they must be pretty spongey. 29-Senior Class votes for officers. Perry Reed is the sole candidate for Treasurer. 30-Students compare bumps from T.B. tests. Racking coughs heard in the halls. BI-Perry Reed is elected class treasurer. I-Mr. Clees gives an interesting lecture on wild life in a suburlban back yard. 2-The first dance of the season, The Gridiron Hop, is attended by loyal sports fans. 5-The Reverend Mr. Hallock comes to talk and discovers his Little Cherub Jackie Mize in the orchestra. I4-Miss Fletcher remarks that the girls are always late to class-Bob Havens and the rest of the girls slink in. I6-Unflinching Lynch and Terrible Tucek defeat Hackensack 20-O. 20-We have a pep assembly before the big game and meet Butch Passaic. 2I-Boys eat too muchee turkey and are scalped by Passaic Indians I9-O. 22-Two policemen dive to the rescue of a drowning dummy. Now how did Butch get into the Passaic, Dick? IO-Ted Halligan catches his hand in the library grille. Mr. Kirby is coldly unsympathetic. I6-Mr. Moore gives an excellent speech on school aims. I7--The basketball team models snappy new jackets. I8-Jack Mize hangs mistletoe over the door of room 207 and sets there awaitin'. I9 -The chorus sings and Johnny Harris skyrockets to fame with Silent Night. 20-The Masquers present Dickens' Christmas Carol with Walt. Sammes as Marley's ghost. Girls are scared by the spook but recover enough to go to the Mistletoe Dance. 52 Jan. Feb. Mar. April May June 6-We come back to school after a welcome respite from work. 7-Mr. Janeba makes his section room clean out their desks. 20-Bernie tries to loose his English book again but Miss Fletcher foils his plot. 22-Mlle. Buter sends one George two gasbills in one subject. I-We decide to work in the last term so we can graduate. ll-June Kirchmann astonishes the French class by translating Mon Dieu loudly and literally. I4-Comes the revolution!! The girls take the boys to the Sadie Hawkins Dance. 24-Happy Seniors get out of classes for the yearbook pictures. 26-We all enjoyed the first song assembly, especially the close harmony in the balcony. 5-The Art Club presents Miss Chandler who talks about art in everyday life. 7-The Franklin Forum stages a Mardi Gras where we recall our lost youth. I2-Mr. Moore announces student supervision of study halls. I9-Two fencers from Newark State Teachers' College, two songs by Martha Alesci, and a talk by Alice Gehrig result in an enjoyable assembly sponsored by the French Club. r 5-Lou Rovira and Cynnie Williamson win hearty applause for their performances as the Mikado and his daughter-in-law elect. 9-Ernie Matson is so carried away by his rendition of The Scarecrow that he repeats it twice to writhing Seniors. IO--Reverend Mr. Kirk from Passaic speaks beautifully at the Hi-Y's impressive Easter assembly. Easter vacation starts. 21-Tempus fugits! Easter vacation closes. 22-George Larned hoards neckties in his desk so that he can change them frequently to vary the monotony of his day. 23-The National Honor Society presents Con Williams in an unusual and entertaining talk on deep sea diving. 25-The Junior Prom is an outstanding success. 29-Arthur Fertig and a bumblebee have a vicious battle which ends suddenly when Art. stabs the bumblebee. 2-Senior boys and male faculty members go on a camping trip to Tamarack. 5-Exhausted boys and disillusioned teachers return from camp. 9-Dauntless faculty members again accompany boys to camp. I4-The National Honor Society welcomes eighteen new members. 2l-Mr. Richard Nelson shows us his interesting films on Central America. 22-Mr. Haas's psychology class works on a movie of individual differences in Ruther- ford schools to be presented in assembly. 27-Graduation drill starts. We try to acquire learned frowns to go with our caps and gowns. 9-Seniors celebrate class day at Rye Beach. I9-Graduation!!
