Coming from Germany last summer, he has made amazing progress in learning the English language. However, it is to be noted that he confines his occasional cussing to his native tongue. Any visitor to his room in Delta is in for a bewildering surprise when Phil tries out a new trick on him. Although he had the misfortune to be injured dur- ing football, he gave a good account of himself in the earlier games. On the baseball diamond he has made a fine showing as a pitcher.
