EUGENIA PAVLOV ORLANDO PILE Brooklyn College - BA '72 Rutgers Medical School - MMS '74 Rutgers Medical School - MD '76 Martin Luther King, Jr., L.A., Calif. Internal Medicine K. , -'ll n 4 H .1 -' , .iiv .4 ,. -r ......, A ' 43 'P L, Congratulations, fellow classmates: These past four years haven't been the easiest years of my educational experience, however, they were quite demanding and interesting. This achieve- ment would never have been accomplished without the continuous support, reassurance and patience from the Brothers and Sisters of Brooklyn College, my family: mother, father, brothers 141, sisters t6l, and particularly, my wife and daughter: Maria-Eliza, and Kinshasa. Throughout my life, l've been constantly advised by white teachers and counselors, that medicine was an impossible vocation for me, and I should concentrate my efforts on music or art. This style of inept counseling just proved to lend itself only to strengthen my desire and develop my confidence to become a physician. ati'

f To my classmates: We scarcely think our meseries our foes. Who alone suffers, suffers most i' the mind: Leaving free things, and happy shows, behind: But then the mind much sufferance doth o'erskip, When grief hath mates and bearing fellowship. Shakespeare KARL E. RUSSELL-BROWN Family Practice .J To my friends on the faculty and administration who believed in, encouraged, and taught me- A sincere thanks. A Thank-you note- Chuck, I owe you a swimming pool Of Hunam chicken to make you drool, For maxi-love while keeping cool Over a steaming wok while l'm in school. To Baggins, my black and white furry creature, For bringing me moles as a regular feature, l'll promise not to be a mad preacher Whenever you bite my toe just to teach her. For my great and supportive mother I offer a real doctor instead of the other. For Ron and Lila, the grooviest of friends, How can I offer enough dividends?! BRENDA SHANK
