L. Seegers, Supervisor of Attendance and Transporta- tiong and the twelve members of the Lincoln Parish School Board. The board is the policy-making body for our schools in Lincoln Parish. As a result of our school boards combined effort, citizens may expect to find in the Ruston district better teachers, new buildings and modern additions, more classrooms, and an all-around better school program. HANCHEY Principal The duties of a high school principal seem endless, as they really are. Wfe are fortunate to have Mr. Hanchey for our principal because he is so competent in carrying out the jobs that must be done to keep Ruston High running smoothly. His job begins before school in the summer when he starts working out the schedules for students for the coming year. This not only includes assigning the students the hours they will take a subject, but also arranging it so that the teachers will have as evenly distributed a load of students as possible. Mr. Hanchey must also be a businessman, able to run the business of RHS well. As far as this goes, he does have the help of Mrs. Kavanaugh, our book- keeper, and his secretary, Mrs. Gullatt. The tasks such as lunchroom reports, attendance records, and needed supply lists, must be handled by Mr. Hanchey. Of course the major duty of Mr. Hanchey is to see that the student body benefits from their attendance at RHS. At times he enlists the help of Mrs. Russell, our guidance counselor. It is always apparent that Mr. Hanchey has the students' needs and abilities foremost in his work. That is why we at RHS are so fortunate to have such a man as he for our principal.
