For thirteen years, Miss Johnson has faithfully published our yearbook. We ap- preciate the determination she has shown. Next year a new teacher will take Miss Johnson's place as head of the RESUME, but to us, the student body of Ruston High School, Miss Johnson will always be remembered as our sponsor of the yearbook. With much pride and grati- tude, we dedicate our thirteenth copy of the Ruston High School RESUME to Miss Ruth Johnson, who has been our dedicated sponsor for all thirteen volumes. In nineteen hundred forty-three when Miss Johnson came to Rus- ton High, there was no yearbook. From the moment she began teaching mathematics, she began to talk to the necessary people about having a yearbook. Finally in nineteen hundred forty-eight Miss Johnson sponsored the first edition of the RESUME.

Zrrewvrd Mr. lfustan J-lzylr Kames nf,4gc Twenty-one years ago our present school building was completed. We, the annual staff, have named the building Mr. Ruston High for this issue of the Resume. Thus, Mr. Ruston High was born twenty-one years ago. He has grown from an infancy served by twenty-two teachers and instructing five hundred and sixty-eight students to a full grown adult serving approximately five hundred and twenty families. He has broadened his field of learning and now offers fifty dif- ferent courses. Mr. Ruston High is known all over the state for his academic achievements. Fun- loving, too, he has time for extracurricular activities which broaden his outlook on life and aid his physical development. All these combined are the character of Ruston High School, the character of its students. Surrounded by this character we, the students, fulfill our utmost aims to develop a worthy code of living, to be responsible citizens, to achieve satisfying human relationships, to learn to live aesthetically, and to succeed in our life's work. We wish to show you throughout this, your 1961 Resume, what happens when Mr. Ruston High Comes of Age
