I dream a world where all will know sweet freedom's way, where greed no longer saps the soul nor avarice blights our day, A world I dream where black or white, whatever race you be, will share the bounties of the earth and every man is free, Where wretchedness will hang its head, and joy, like a pearl, attend the needs of all mankind. Contents Dedication Classes Faculty Activities Sports Organizations Ads Dedication William B. Skinner 10 We dedicate this annual to WILLIAM B. SKINNER, in return for the priceless gifts of knowledge and inspiration he has bestowed upon us. It is a way of expressing our gratitude and a feeble attempt to return some of the respect that he first gave to us. BAN ROSIN Gr al 12 13 In Memory of Thomas Eugene Hunter 1953-1971 Life was a delight... Of swirling yellow and flirting butterflies in silken flight and happy daisies It was a breathless, generous laugh, an eager grin for everyone With long green parks of mellow and thoughtful all-embracing love and quiet moments far away Life was a delight... Every generation confronts the dream with visions of reality. But there is an elusive- ness in dreams beyond the wisest man. Let the senior class strive to reach this goal of peace and brother- hood. But first they must call up their past and take hold of fond memories that timelessly constitute adoles- cence. Could you ever forget CANTERBURY TALES, fittings for caps and gowns, or the prom? Long will the memory hang on of skipping home- room, Senior Day, and signing the annuals a final time. With such a rich past only the full strive for a brighter tomorrow could make life worthwhile. Take hands brothers and sisters, a heartless world awaits us unless we work together and love each other. Track, the Loner’s Sport Football and basketball have always been the sports for stars. They each have their all-district teams and elaborate banquets. Football and basketball also have tremendous fan following. But perennially a troup of students set out to run track. The S.C.A. also works a great deal with the faculty and School Board in making final decisions. The main goal or purpose for any club or organization is “togetherness”, pride, and the desire for people involved to work. Without your help and understanding, I feel the S.C.A. would have accomplished nothing in making this the best year ever at Rustburg. Thank you for your help and cooperation this year.
