That remains to be seen! And the day we selected invitations and cards for graduation--we're almost through with our high school days, Remember the day that averages were announced, and we came up with not one, but two Valedictorians, Hilda Lee and Barbara Tweedy! Then we began to realize that time really was passing quickly, Before we know it, we will be going our separate ways, and we must begin some serious thinking on what we are to do when that time comes, As we look back over the senior year, we remember the many little things which made life happy for us--the time Ben modeled Judy’s Christmas gift, the day the locks were put on the hall lockers, the Friday night dances, term papers to be typed, basketball and baseball, the senior trip, the entertainment given us by the Sophomore Class, pages of layout for the Annual, the arrival of our long-awaited caps and gowns--and Commencement,

Then came the Bazaar, and our representative, Bill Staples, won the title of King, after a rather hectic evening of fighting for votes, Just before Thanksgiving we presented the Senior Play entitled ‘‘Happy Days,’’ and it was a big success, What would we have done if it hadn't been for Louis, who so ably stepped into the leading part almost at the last minute! Then came the Christmas Season, and we played ‘ ‘Peanut’’ instead of the usual ‘‘Pollyanna,”’ Wasn't it fun finding out who had been sneaking gifts to us all during the week? By the time Senior Day arrived, the lower classmen were really worried about what their penalties might be, but we were only out to let everyone know who was in the Senior Class,

CLASS PROPHECY The spring day was cold, and as the last few raindrops trickled down the window pane, I began to dream back to the days when I was in high school, My classmates had gone their separate ways, but I began to wonder what each one was doing, now that ten years had passed, I wandered out onto the street, and after I had walked a couple of blocks I happened to find a crystal ball at my feet. How it got there, I'll never know, but I picked it up and hurried home. When I looked deep into the ball it seemed to tell me just what I wanted to know, As each face appeared a voice seemed to say: Octavia Loftin is teaching Home Economics, although she is still crossing the bridge to Goncordstossces boom liers Lucy Dalton is now married to a prosperous rancher at Sycamore, As head nurse at Lynchburg General Hospital, Christine Trent is still looking for the per- fect man, cs G. H. Coleman has a part ownership in the Coleman-Evans hog ranch and is doing fine, except that his profits are being cut short for some unknown reason, Peggy Blankinship is working as secretary for Mitchell Repair Service at Gladys, where she and her husband now live, Barbara Tweedy is employed by the FBI, although she has completed plans forher marriage to the left-fielder of the New York Giants, Louis Cowart is operating the Bachelor's Home which is located next door to the newly constructed Home for Spinsters, Dale Talley is living on a farm near Concord with her husband and three sons, She and her husband also sing on their own TV program, Kathleen Elliott, airline hostess for United Airlines, plans to join her husband in Germany soon, Ben Driskill owns his own tobacco farm near ‘‘Rowdy’’ and at last married one of those Concord brunettes, Judy Martin has opened a new primary school in Tyreeanna, where she is teaching, and her four children also attend the same school, Phyllis Wooldridge is secretary for Mitchell Lumber Company, Paul Wingfield is working as chief stock clerk with J, P, Bell Company. Hilda Lee is back from her South American honeymoon and is working for Dr. James Epperson in his Animal Hospital. Bill Staples is still playing ‘‘Papa’’ to all the eligible nurses at Lynchburg General Hospital, Mary Ida Talley has at last settled down at Concord with her husband, who has his law office there, Johnny Snow is operating ‘‘Snow Body and Fender Company’’ for his classmates’ future use, Freddie Keesee is preaching at ‘‘Mikes’’ largest Church, Saint Luke, His friends are al- ways invited, and as the visions in the crystal ball began to fade I seemed to hear his Church choir, composed of all the voices we had known so well during our four years of high school,
