To everyone we leave the many memories of all the happy and sad experiences we had together in the last eleven years, Il, Faculty To Mr. Hodge, we leave the dream of a school with all A students and by special request of our boys, a pair of heel taps for obvious reasons, Mrs, Martin, we leave you the memories of the wonderful times we had with you as our Sophomore and Senior Home Room Teacher, They were grand times, We know Mrs, Hunter will be glad to receive the map we wish to leave her so she can always find the right school bus, We wish to bequeath another red necktie to Mr, Garbee because the old one is worn out now, To Mrs, Wilson we leave hopes of an entire History IV Class with all up-to-date books. Mr. Mitchell, we leave you memories of Tommy Moon, A prompt Home Economics III Class is what we would like to leave Mrs, Reigel, but we doubt if that will ever be possible. To all our teachers we leave memories of our smiling faces, undivided attention in classes, intelligent answers to all questions, and our meek and tidy nature. Alsoa large size bottle of aspirin with many thanks for all that you have done for us in years past, Ill. Special Requests Mac Hodge leaves his Daddy to all the poor students yet to come. The ability to have a temper and a man at the same time is what Geraldine Krenning wishes Jeanette Puckette to have, Gene Neighbors, Marshall Booth leaves you his usual quiet nature and asks that you please use it. To Carol Phillips, Norma Jean leaves her ability to attract tall men, Judy Marie Steppe bequeaths her extra freckles to Freddie Keesee to add to his present collection, Her singing ability is what Willie Marie Fariss wishes Kathleen Elliott to have. Lois Lee, Evelyn Wisecarver hopes you’ll make good use of her vocal cords that she leaves you for it was really a sacrifice for her to part with them, To Dale Talley, Wanda Wood leaves the secret of her height, Amy Miles wishes Lucy Wright to have her ability to get a diamond. His giggle is what Wallace Keesee wants C, B. Moore to have, Buster Williams, Martha Anne Overbey hopes you will inherit her ability to get along with the State Troopers and use it well, To Gary Cheatham, David Yates leaves his weakness for girls, especially for blondes. Tommy Moon leaves hiw own special talent for getting in and out of trouble to Paul Wing- field and hopes it will be very helpful. Her dancing ability is what Judith Blankenship would like Dolores Johnson to have, Peggy Jennings, Mildred Lindsay would like to leave you two of her most useful poss- essions, her hair curlers and her scissors. To Annie Cyrus, Mary Coleman bequeaths her ability to get along with small children, knowing she’ll need it. Her fHrtatious nature is what Charlotte Venable would like Connie Edelstein to have, She hopes Connie can uphold it, but warns that it’s a very hard job. G. H. Coleman should be very honored to receive Danny Wooldridge’s athletic ability since they both know R.H.S, will need great athletes now that Danny has vacated his short- stop position, Doris Wooldridge bequeaths her ability to have nightly dates to Peggy Blankenship. With ‘‘cooperation is the key to progress’’ as our motto and the Lily of the Valley as our flower, and green and white our colors, we were really enter - ing into high school life. This year we had our school paper, Farm Show, May Day, and several freshmen went on the trip to Washington, When June came it was time for our sum- mer vacation and much to our sorrow there were eight members missing from our class, September found twenty-two pupils in the sophomore room with Mrs, Annie Gay Mar- tin as our homeroom teacher, Danny Wooldridge was elected President, Again there was the trip to Washington, May Day, Farm Show, F,H.A. and F,F.A. banquets and the Christ- mas program, June was here again but suddenly our wonderful vacation had ended, JUNIOR CLASS OFFICERS Seated, left to right: Marie Tanner, President; Gladys Lindsay, Historian, Standing; left to right: Billy Tweedy, Secretary; Ed Trent, Treasurer; Gary Cheatham, Reporter; Cal- vin Adkins, Vice-President, Tramp! Tramp! The noise grew louder as thirty-seven Freshmen ran up the steps to their first year of High School. We thought we were really something, pity the teachers didn’t too. Our home-room teacher was Mr. Hancock, and our class president Jimmy Thompson, We chose for our motto, ‘‘Deeds not Dreams’ ®, Our class colors were maroon and white, and our class flower, the gardenia, Alice Moore and Betty Jean Taylor were elected to the May Court, and our year closed with our having gained Toby Harris and lost four other members, In the fall of 50 thirty-one pupils entered the Sophomore room with Mrs, Martin as home-room teacher and Carol Phillips as class president, Carol Phillips and Alice Moore were our May Court representatives, September 1951 saw us back at R.H.S. as Juniors with Mrs, Mary Hunter our home- room teacher, and Marie Tanner as class president. Some of the highlights of this year were: our Halloween class party, given by our home-room mothers, Mrs, Fariss and Mrs, Elliott; the appointing of Jimmy Thompson as page to the General Assembly; the election of Peggy Jennings as Maid-of-Honor and Alice Moore and Toby Harris to the May Court. SOPHOMORES On September 4, 1950, thirty four students rushed up the stairs to the Freshman room to begin four years of high school with Mr, Thomas as class sponsor, We elected that year Estelle Leonard as our President, We chose as our Class Flower, the red rose. Our colors were blue and white, and our motto was The Golden Rule’’. For the first time two members of our class, Nancy Wheeler and Connie Edelstein were in the May Court. Highlights of the year were our two hayrides and the weiner roasts Mr, Thomas gave us. When summer vacation came there were eight members missing from our class, This past September found twenty-seven pupils in the Sophomore room with Mr. Fred- erick Garbee as our hoom room teacher, Barbara Tanner was chosen as our President, This year, Connie Edelstein and Estelle Leonard represented us in the May Court, High- lights of this year were the Farm Show, Halloween Party, Christmas Program and our May Day.
