Betty Lou Tweedy JUNIOR CLASS HISTORY When school opened September 8, 1947, there was a noisy group of boys and girls in the freshman room. They soon got the name of the worst behaved class in school, We elected FranklinColeman presidentand our home room teacher was Mrs. Minnick. Some of the years events were a school newspaper, a May-Day Program, and the Farm Show. The final event ofthat year was the coming of June when we all got out ofschoolfor the summer. As the case of all good things this came to an end when September rolled around again and we started back to school as sophomores. Arvin Moorefield was elected president and our homeroom teacher was Mrs. Martin. During the course of the slow moving year the F. F. A. boys held a Father and Son banquet and the F. H. A. girls a formal dance. The sopho- mores gottheir first chance togo to Washington, We managed throughthe year and when June came our way again we hada wonderful vacation, but that ended with the coming of September again. So back to school we came as juniors. Sonny Gear was chosen president this term and Mrs, Mayberry was our homeroom teacher. During the year we had our favorite square dances, a trip to Washington and we ended upthe year withthe Junior-Senior Prom. All of this would never have come about if it hadn’t been for our homeroom teacher Mrs. Mayberry and so we wish to say that we hope she will be with us through our coming senior year.
