Scienta est potentia. Friends, Romans, Countrymen . . . , exclaims Ricky Rose. The Pen Is Mightier Than the Sword — Edward Lytton Authors at work in American literature class. English composition and literature are required in grades seven through eleven but are optional for seniors. One semester is devoted to English composition and one semester to lit- erature. In the advanced classes more emphasis is placed on the use of Eng- lish in speech, debate, essays and re- search papers. The juniors are study- ing American literature; the seniors, English literature, while the other classes have a combination of the two. Mrs. Miller teaches grades seven through ten while Mrs. Bennett in- structs the juniors and seniors. Latin is a popular subject this year and is taught by Mrs. Elmore.

All together now, says Ted McGaughey, the leader. ' 1, 2, 3, 4 ... Boys ' physical education classes include 5th and 6th grades, Junior High, Freshmen and Sophomores, and an ad- vanced course for Juniors and Seniors. These boys are kept busy playing baseball, Softball, touch football, and basket- ball; running in cross country; doing calisthenics; and tumbling. Mr. Sheese and Mr. Morton are the instructors. Girls ' physical education classes are for Junior High and Freshmen and Sopho mores. Their specialty is kickball, but they are also occupied with calisthenics, relays, marching, volleyball and ring toss. Their teacher is Mrs. Miller. I got it, says Marty Boiler. Our Physical Fitness Program ' Get set, go ! '
