“Sound of Music is Huge Musical Success Russell High School presented The Sound of Music. The play was directed by Jerry Crenshaw and the vocal music direction by Jim Balthazor. It was presented March 30 and 31 at 8:00 p.m. in the Ruppenthal Auditorium. The play was a huge suc- cess. Cast members were: Kim Flegler as Maria Rainer, Cheryl Keil as Sister Berthe, Connie Shaffer as Sister Margaretta, Patty Davidson as The Mother Abbess, Jenifer Brandeberry as Sister Sophia, Steve Line as Captain Georg von Trapp, Larry Froelich as Franz, Katherine Eggert as Frau Schmidt, Cynthia Street as Liesl, Jason Sargent as Friedrich, Jodi Hitchcock as Louisa, Luke Nichols as Kurt, Kristy Line as Brigitta, Erin Flagler as Marta, Traci Mahoney as Gretl, Kevin Davidson as Rolf Gruber, Shawn Flagler as Elsa Schraeder, Monica Ma- honey as Ursula, Monte Selby as Max Detweiler, David Kreier as Herr Zeller, Connie King as Frau Zeller, Jeff Michel as Baron Elberfeld, Dorothy Jacobs as Baroness Elberfeld, Annette Ma- honey as A Postulant, and Galen Giebler as Admiral Von Schreiber. Members of the Special Choir were: Amy Banker, Carol Banks, Ramona Bender, Lynette Branch, Kathleen Denning, Dottie Drake, Ja- net Fink, Tammy Gier, Theresa Grizzle, Lyria Henderson, Mary Beth McClain, Cecilia Mills, Colleen Moore, Elaine Nowak, and Margie Schmidt.
