This year the J.C.L., or Junior Classical League, started the promotion of the classics among the Latin students by holding the ini- tiation for new members in the fall. The new members are to act as slaves for their first year in the club. Among the projects for the year are the Smester Food Sales and the Roman Banquet, which were deemed successful by the sponsor, Miss Flora Bigler. The club also participated in the State Convention at Manhattan when they helped put on a style show showing different types of Roman dress. During Latin Week in April, the J.C.L. encourages and publicizes the club in the school. OFFICERS: Jerry Bay less. The Organization held a car-wash at the beginning of the school year and had another car wash cancelled due to bad weather. By selling coffee, doughnuts, and carrots at the local football and basketball games the club was able to obtain their annual $100 athletic scholarship by the first of February.
