LEROY FARGASON E. E. GIBBONS Social Science THE Mathematics Science Mr. Ferguson has been an exceptionally good geometry teacher and during his first year of Russell he has won many friends. We all know Miss Galloway by her untiring school spirit and devotion to her students. She has many friends among teachers and pupils. Mr. Giesler, also new this year, formed a locker patrol and helped us get rid of most of the torn up lockers. We all enjoyed his very interesting lectures about India. Mr. Germano adds much To our school with his interesting Spanish classes He has also given us a touch of the Spanish he so thoroughly teaches by his improvement to our patio. Mr. Gibbons has been a good geography teach- er. He left us once. but of course he knows a good school when he sees it, so he came back Mrs. Golightly has been a great help to new students in her Sub-Freshman classes, as well as doing a fine job as sponsor of the F.T.A. Mrs. Golson is to be praised for lrer fine work of Taking over where Mr. Gause left off. We hope she likes Russell as much as we like her. Mr. Grindle has done many things since he started his teaching career two years ago. He not only does a fine job with his business education classes, but can also be depended upon to be a chaperon or sponsor for student socials. MISS MARTHA GALLOWAY G. T. GIESLER GUY G. EVANS Athletics Mathematics DE Industrial Arts Mrs. Burch has done an excellent job as a Mr. Cash, 0 young and popular teacher, has Mrs. Chapman has been a great moral support faculty member. She gave up teaching English to done 0 fine job as sponsor of the Civiton Club, this year. She has a keen interest in all of our assist with the overflow of History classes, a fact besides his faculty duties. He was responsible for athletic qctivities as well as being a swell teach- thot all of us greatly appreciate. a benefit show for the March of Dimes. er and friend. Mr. Colley has done much for the school by fostering and advancing the Russell High Bonk, besides being a very efficient teacher in the Com- mercial Department. Miss Davidson has the ability to make her stu- dents feel relaxed and confident in class. She can be spotted a mile away by her constant smilet Mr. Dodd is regarded as being a very effi- cient teacher as well as being head of the Athletic Department. He took the responsibility of a senior homeroom this year for the first time, and has been a wonderful friend and help. Mrsi Doivin did a wonderful job of selling Pointers. She has also given her time freely as Sub-Freshman advisor and by taking students to basketball games and other events. Mrs. Duke, head of the DE. Department. Un- der her guidance this department has expanded greatly and become very active. As head of the shops, Mr. Evans has made outstanding advancement. His students have con- structed beautiful chests, book ends and other useful articles.

MISS BERTIE GROSS English RICHARD HANSBERY Band SLAVE Miss Grass is dearly appreciated for her en- thusiastic interest in the senior class as their ad- vior. We think she has more I'Wildcat spirit than the rest of the school combined. CAPT. DONALD E. GROSS Military MISS JULIA HARDIN Physical Education Science MISS JO WILL H English D R Captain Gross has been an inspiration to the military boys. He is always willing to chaperon school functions and provides some very interest ing chapel programs, EARN THOMAS F. GUFFIN, JR x HAROLD GUNN Science CECIL H. JACKSON Social Science VERS Mr. Guffin is considered by his students to be one of the most thorough teachers in the Sci- ence Department. He is always helpful with the projection machine. Mr. Gunn does different kinds of outstanding things for our school. He is sponsor of the Key Club and Golf Club. He also does a good job of managing the book rooms The band, under the leadership of Mr. Hans- bery, has advanced remarkably. He did a swell job during football season and the students ap- preciate it. Miss Hardin has, without a doubt, helped the Physical Education Department to advance tre- mendously. She also had a successful girls bas- ketball team, Miss Hearn has been with us for a number of years and is continuing her efficient work as spell- ing teacher and helping sub-freshmen. Along with his faculty duties as a social sci- ence teacher, Mr. Jackson is sponsor of the Na- tional Honor Society at Russell. All of his students enjoy and appreciate his assistance.
