4. 1 l eb' Class Hi tory As we, the seniorsw of 1950, review our days of high school, we find that we have become attached to our school and it is with reluctance that we depart. Strange as it may seem, there is a very small senior class. This is due to the fact that an extra year has been added, thus changing the number of grades from eleven to twelve. The class of 1950 is composed of students who, for one reason or another, are behind in their work, those who have done extra work and are ahead of the junior class, and those who have transferred froms other schools. As we think back to our freshman year, we remember what a large and con- fusing place Russell was. There were schedules to learn, locker combinations: to memorize, new teachers to remember and numerous rules by which we were to abide. We thought then that we would never live to become seniors. As we progressed into our sophomfore year, we found that we were not quite as bewildered and that we had begun to love dear old Russell. We discovered that the teachers were really human, not just part of the mechanism of a classroom, and that they were willing to help us in every way they could. Our junior year found us dreaming wistfully about the day when we would become seniors. We also did a lot of planning and decorating to make the Junior- Senior Dance a huge success. At last, after all our years of hard work, we were seniors, and the year began by bringing us many pleasant sfurprises. Our school had been redecorated, we had a new principal and many new teachersg and graduation day was only a few short months away. Proudly we wore our senior rings, ordered cards and invita- tions, began working on the Pointer, and all the rest of the exciting things that make your senior year in high school so unforgettable. Now as we go out into the world to take our places in life, we carry with us cherished memories of Russell High that will remain with us throughout the years.
