ll it n A 1 wk er 1'? v Q EQDQNGMESQRQ Freylzmmz ffl'ytory E, the present members of the Freshman Class of ,28329, were graduated from grammar school on lVIay 28, 1928. . , Our vacation of three months was full of wondering and anticipation b as to what our years of high school would bring forth. At last the time came to enter our new realm of adventure and we felt as important as if we were already seniors. It is natural to suppose that we felt as if we could con- quer the world when we were granted our diplomas from grammar school, but more importance still did we assume as we entered high school. We were rather proud of the fact that we could enter Russell High as freshmen and be the first class to have our four years of High school work in our new con- solidated school. The members of our class came from the seventh grades of East Point, College Park, Hapeville and the surrounding neighborhoods. Although we were from numer- ous places, we were united into the largest Class in school with one purpose in View: that is, to successfully finish our high school course in such a way that our work will be an honor to ourselves and to our Alma Mater. Soon, classes were organized and all of our llcastles-inetheaairll vanished somewhat, as we came face to face, with teacher after teacher and tried to find our way to the different class rooms. Starting on our first days journey to Classes, we feared both teachers and hard studies. However, we found our teachers not so dreadful as we had expected and we were soon well acquainted with them, as well as many pupils, who later became our friends. It did not take us long to enter into the spirit of our school and become as enthusi- astic about every school activity as our upper classmen. By the Close of the first quar- terls examinations we had proven our real worth. Each quarter, we strove to maintain that attitude and make our grades higher.
