We Will Hold Up Her Standards, Whatever May Betide. We Will Follow Her Colors, Flung Out to the Sky. We Will Give Our Hearts’ Devotion, To Ole Russell High. 16 J On behalf of the present and past BRHS student bodies the Echo staff would like to dedicate this book to Mr. H. L. Johnson in appreciation for his numerous contributions to education. Mr. Johnson is a graduate of Dale County High School in Ozark. He received a B.S. Degree from Troy State University and a Master's Degree from the University of Alabama. He came to Alexander City in 1945 to coordinate a training program for veterans. In 1956 he joined BRHS as head of the Trade and Industrial Education Department. He was promoted to the position of Assistant Principal in 1968 and remained so until his retirement in 1977. Mr. Johnson devoted his entire working life to education and the many people whose lives he touched are eternally grateful —even his expansive Three Day Club. Don’t stop, thinking about tomorrow. Don't stop, it’ll soon be here. It’ll be, better than before. Yesterday’s gone, yesterday’s gone. Why not think about times to come. And not about the things that you’ve done. If your life was bad to you. Just think what tomorrow will do. All I want is to see you smile. If it takes just a little while, I know you don’t believe that it’s true. I never meant any harm to you. Since that time, the staff has been searching for the right pictures, the right page design, and the right copy, to create for you a very special memory of the 1977-78 school year. The Echo Staff had a great beginning this year. Even before all the pictures had been taken, or all the yearbook sections drawn up. the yearbook design won a trophy at the Auburn University yearbook workshop.
