The Cats opened their season with a convincing 29-0 win over the Wetumpka Indians. The two teams battled through a scoreless first quarter. The second quarter Wade Spradley scored twice and James Meigs booted a 32 yard field goal with seconds left in the first half. In the third quarter Andy Gothard scored and in the fourth quarter Wade Spradley made his third T. D. of the night. L XH tb The Cats won their third straight game by defeating the Lanett Panthers 9-7. The Panthers scored first and made the score 7-0. The Cats came right back on their next possession with a drive that ended in a 23-yard drive that ended with a Gothard to Luker touchdown pass. The conversion failed and the Cats trailed at halftime 7-6. The Cats made a drive into Panther territory but the drive was stalled and James Meigs booted a 16-yard field goal to give the Cats a 9-7 advantage. Talkdega The Wildcats continued their winning ways as they defeated the Talledega Tigers 7-0. No scores were made until the fourth quarter. Wade Spradley sprinted 20 yards into the end-zone, breaking at least four tackles on the way. 90 Opekkfr The Cats notched their fourth consecutive victory by walloping Opelika 27-6. This win boosted the Cats into first place in the Border Conference with a 2-0 conference record. Touchdowns were made by Jeff Bunn, Dean Carlisle, Andy Gothard, and Wade Spradley. QqIjmOu The Wildcats led by a staunch defense, triumphed over the Selma Saints in their Homecoming tilt by a score of 20-0. Touchdowns were made by Wade Spradley and Andy Gothard, who scored two. Aui uAM The Cats suffered their first loss at the hands of the Auburn Baby Tigers by a score of 15-13. Touchdowns were scored by Andy Gothard and Jeff Bunn. James Meigs made the extra point. 91 Volky The Cats returned to the winner's circle by defeating the Valley Rams 24-13. Wade Spradley made all four touchdowns for the Wildcats. TbMa see A tough bunch of Wildcats moved into Tallassee territory and came away with a convincing 34-0 conquest of an outclassed Tallassee Tiger football team. Phil Luker scored two touchdowns. The other scores were made by George Hardy, Jimmy Whetstone, and Jeff Bunn. The Cats posted their eighth victory by defeating the Prattville Lions 21-19. Touchdowns were scored by Jimmy Whetstone and Nathan Poole, who scored two.
