Class Hsstory ln the fall of l947 the l959 graduatsng class of BRI-lS placed two solsd feet on the fsrst rung of the ladder of hsgher educatson ln anuary of the same year the old AC elementary school burned leavsng them to complete thesr fsrst year and most of thesr second sn the Alexander Csty churches Although they were under unusual csrcumstances they managed to learn the fundamentals of readsn rstsng and rsthmetsc Halfway up the ladder as thesr knowledge grew they found them selves sn junsor l-lsgh School Thesr class may well be remembered for organszsng the Safety Patrol havsng the fsrst Esghth Grade Prom and or ganszsng the school paper The l-lsllsan Avondale and csty schools prepared for the last four rungs sn the ladder as they attended BRHS As season followed season they found themselves strugglsng Cvsth more dsffscult subsects and more mature problems Then sn l958 they stepped upon the last rung of thesr ladder as they entered thesr fsnal year of school wsth one hundred and thsrteen members sn the Sensor Class A few of the hsghlsghts of thss year were the Chrsstmas card sale magazsne sale Chrsstmas party Washsngton trsp junsor Sensor Prom football banquet Sensor banquet and the ultsmate clsmax when they stepped off thss ladder to begsn agasn on sndsvsdual ladders of thesr own C-raduatson . . . . n J On September l, l955, one hundred seventy-five freshmen from Russell.

When Autumn Comes -- With the turning of the multi-colored autumn leaves, B.R.l-l.S. opens its doors and the classes begin their activities for the year. The seniors, being the oldest and most experienced of the students, enjoy being first in the election of class officers, song, motto, flower and colors. On the other hand the junior Class fulfills its fondest dream of measuring for class rings. Meanwhile the Sophomore Class feels right at home as they watch the freshmen ex- perience the feelings of mingled fright and joy of being a part of high school. The first things all minds turn to are the football games on those breezy, exciting nights. Following each home game a dance is held, and good fun is the keynote. The school year begins in a blaze cf beauty, for never were the leaves so brilliant, and the school year begins with a burst of enthusiasm for learning and a high school spirit.
