The last day of school at Russell High School is not only a happy day but an honor day for those outstand- ing Seniors who have excelled in some particular field. Beautiful Valedictorian trophies were presented to Priscilla Lynd and Linda Barry while Mary Alice Nolan received the Salutatorian trophy. Honor medals were awarded honorarians: Lucille Westfall, Reba Sloan, Sandy Porter, Sally Johnson, Carole Carte, and Billie Dillow. The Outstanding Senior Trophy, given by the Russell Lions Club, the coveted DAR good Citizenship Award, and the Yearbook Staff award were conferred on Mary Alice Nolan. Priscilla Lynd was also highly honored by gaining the Science Award of S100 Savings Bond, the English Medal, the Bausch and Lomb honorary science medal, the science, mathematics, and history medals. The Senior boy good citizenship award was given to Jack Goebel. Reba Sloan received the S125 scholar- ship given by Russell You Younger Women's Club. Sally Johnson was presented the S100 scholarship by the Russell Central P.T.A. The commercial medal was awarded to Sandy Porter, Band medal, Margie Morris, Art, Martha Finch, Vo- cation, John Duncan, Home Ec., Marilyn Hudgins, math- ematics, Bill Johnson, Yearbook staff award, Alice Anderson and Joe Taylor, a Junior, received an honor letter.
