FRESI-IMAN CLASS HISTORY lfarly in the fall of this year we poor trembling freshics entered the grim. awe inspiring and hallowed portals of Russell High School determined to carry on the tradition of all freshics in the past and the years to conie. XVith all the vi1n and vigor that characterizes and stamps all freshies we entered into the rather exciting life tthenj of the hustle-and-bustle of Ifigh School life. There was nothing about us to inark us as different from the thousands of predecessors that have preceded us except that in all probability we were greener. This year has been one of the most calm and uneventful years for the Freshman Class in the history of Russell Iligh. The biggest date and most feared of the year, as always, was that dreaded day of disaster for the Iireshies but of extreme joy for the dignified Seniors. Initiation Iiay. After surviving this inajor disaster with nothing inure than a few days standing up we once more began to emerge froin under the pall that had fallen, Rap' idly turning from a sickly green to a more brilliant and satisfying green we rapidly saw the hours march by in school. XYith no great Hood, as of last year. to delay us we rolled smoothly on to our point of destination. In the first inass ineeting earlier in the year the Freshies had already picked SCAR- l.liT ANU GRAY for their colors and the following motto: XYITRE OX OUR XXQXY. XYe elected our class officers after several heated argnnients and elections. the results were: 'I'RliSII3lCNT. liII.l. lXIcCUTCl IRON, YTCIC VRICSIDENT, IOHNNY SIVLIQ. SICCRICTQXRY, ICSTIIFR MISL- YIN, TRICASCRIQR, li.VXTHI,liEN LICXYIS. .-Xnd as you read this we have already had the biggest date of the year for the lircshies or are very near to having it. That being the l938 Connnenceinent date. For on that date the Freshies will have been rewarded for all their persecution from their elders. the Seniors. They will have a chance to gloat over the future. Ini- tiation Date when they will be in the shoes of their persecutors of this year. And so with the final date of the year the lireshies turn a healthy pink color and step into the shoes of their ininiediate superiors the Sophoinores and can give the Bronx Cheer to the rest of the High School whenever they feel like it and not be afraid of some Senior calling them down for it.
