Class Hnstory In August 1945 th1rteen little tots started to school they were Doyle DeBok 11m Guthr1e Fred Iagger, I1m Reynolds Larry W1lk1nson Ethel Dav1s, Ieanette Dlllman Barbara Hosk1ns Karen Moore, Dolores O Donnell Iudy Ryan, Karen Werts, Karen W111lIS In the Second grade they were jo1ned by Colette Kenworthey They lost Colette in the Thlrd grade but Donna Reynolds, Karen Patterson, and Allen Sellers jo1ned them In the Fourth grade they lost I1m Guthr1e Fred Jagger Barbara Hosk1ns The Flfth grade year lost Larry W1lk1nson, and were Jomed by M1ldred McKay Mary Morr1son Sam Patterson, and Ronald Tuttle The Slxth grade brought Karen Chapman to join them Seventh grade brought Iudy Green and Larry Iones, and lost Ronald Tuttle Larry Iones was lost 1n the E1ghth grade Gee' Now we are Freshmen We lost Mary Morr1son, Karen Patterson,and Sam Patterson But the class 1S Jomed by Charles Mann, Donald Relph Verdella S1bert, Laur1tta Cochran, Iudy Sm1th Iean Lockr1dge, Al1Ce Savage Mary Ellen Edwards, Ioyce Busby, and M1ldred Powers don't th1nk any of us will ever forget Freshman 1n1t1at1on, but it was all fun and the Sophomores had a party for us at the end of the week Our sponsor was Mrs Wantland In our Sophomore year we lost Charles Mann, Iudy Smlth Iudy Ryan and Karen Werts We had many part1es and fun Our sponsor was Mr Hunn1cutt Our Iunlor year brought many new problems, fun and Mar1lyn L1ster Je were busy thmking of ways to make money for the annual Iunlor Sen1or Banquet We had bake sales car wash, con cess1ons at the basketball games, and a Chlll supper We presented our class play on October 25 entitled The Boardlng House Reach d1feCted by our sponsor Mrs Cathar1ne Iohnson After the play Donna Reynolds 1nv1ted everyone to her house On May 9, we enterta1ned the Sen1ors and the faculty at the Iumor Sen1or Banquet held 1n the gym The gym and tables were decorated w1th an Or1ental theme Of the present twenty two class members seven have been together s1nce K1ndergarten they are Doyle DeBok 11m Reynolds Ethel Dav1s, Ieanette D1llman, Karen Moore Dolores O Donnell Karen W1ll1ts Th1s year we lost three members they were Ralph Egbert, Al1ce Savage and Mar1lyn L1ster, and were Jolned by Shella Curran, Ruth Smlth Dave Orw1g, and Dale Parr1sh Our sponsor 15 Mr Robert Roach Our fun together 1S com1ng to an end Such th1ngs as sneak days DBYIIGS class mght, and graduatlon Wlll soon be a thing of the past VVhat the future holds nobody knows We w1sh one another luck and cher1sh the memorles of Russell Hlgh and the fr1ends made here Iean lockrldge Verdella Slbert Ruth Sm1th THE EDUCATED MAN In the cradle our educatlon began An lt w1ll cont1nue t1l we are ln the grave From Mother s knee to h1gh school halls We have traveled thus far But we are merely beg1nn1ng our life s Jou1ney Now we come to a bend 1n the r1ver The water 1S not as shallow as before We have yet to know our deepest Joys, and sorrows We have yet to fulf1ll our deepest dreams and desires We may plant these dreams, And Wlth the a1d of educat1on Nour1sh them and watch them QTOW We shall be thrust out 1nto the world soon What er l1es ahead marr1age, college, career vho knows?
