They were always there to aid in directions to rooms, dates of activi- ties, and many other facts that students wanted to know, but most important, they kept things organized. An addition to the office was a part- time secretary, Miss Cheryl McKinney. Cheryl came in after third hour to aid the secretaries in the daily tasks that they per- formed. Mrs. Pat Prouty, secretary to the prin- cipal, handled anything from formal letters to money matters for Mr. Cattle. Mrs. Rusty Gfeller, secondary school secretary, took care of anything dealing with schedules, grade cards, and mail, to answering phone calls and numerous typ- ing tasks. Mrs. lee Flippen, secondary school office clerk, kept up with registration, ab- sentees, and permanent records. If Emmy or Grammy awards were given for the ideal secretaries, these three ladies would be the best recipients. 1 You requisitioned how much money?', ques- tions Mrs. Prouty. 2 'gBeing an office secretary sure takes getting use to!', says Cheryl Mc- Kinney. 3 Registration has got to be one of the most time-consuming things I do, decides Mrs. Flippen. 4 The daily absentee lists just keep getting longer, sighs Mrs. Flippen. 5 After long and tedious work on IBM cards, Mrs. Gfeller takes a phone break. Addztwn Auls Counselors Phones ringing off the Wall, masses of students revising appointments, and mis- understanding about schedule changes, the personal service department considers these dilemmas a thing of the past, thanks to Mrs. Katie Grossnickle, the counselors new secretary. Mrs. Grossnickle, who has worked previously in the district at various jobs, likes this one best. It helps me manage my time better and I love it,', elaborates Mrs, Grossnickle. Mrs. Marjorie Langford, Mr. William Nicholson, Mr. Charles Hoskins, Mr. Calvin Crawford, and Mrs. Lavanda Booth all agree that she is a welcome additon to the department. Not only emotional, but physical aid is offered in the personal service department. Mrs. Dorothy Wright, the school nurse, com- pleted her 15th year of aspirin and band- aid surgery. 1 Mrs. Langford and Mrs. Grossnickle verify ap- pointments. 2 '4What time does my arm say, Mrs. Wright? asks Joey Birchard. 3 The coun- selors' work goes on 4. . .and on 5 . . . and on. 6 Mrs. Booth changes an unhappy student's schedule Person al Services 17 ...J v ' -N '
