Ewirig, Lett :dit Dlck Dgll, Right hcl' fizzg Mills, Fullbdck tuck : football Hero .1 JIU Ffa U ..-W Ill P Our team thrs year was burlt around the seven lettermen back from last year Our excellent record of seven vrctortes and only three defeats was due marnly to these men They recelved some very able assrstance from four newcomers to the squad Our ends Sargent ard Stephens could always come through and catch a pass when needed most On defensrve play they were also outs andrng Oppos ng teams made lrttle yardage around these boys all season Our tackles were Dave Lrttle Pete Smrth and Bob Lambert These boys were very e rcrent They cut through blockers and got therr man regardless of opposrtron They broke up many plays before they got started Our two guards Captarn Redshaw and Bob Utter were the best guard rn the conference Redshaw recerved honorable mentron on a team corn posed of the outstandtng players of the state ln every game they we outstandrng on both defense and offense The center Glen Strausbaugh was the man who ar eel every play and new to htm as he played half back last year Ewtng and Dtll were our half backs and gatned many yards almost every trme they carrred the ball End runs were therr sp cralty although they also were very successful at hrttmg the lme Our quarter backs Rebman and Webster ran back the punts and always drd a good rob of tt no matter how many tacklers h1t them They contrrbuted much to the success o our end runs wrth therr superb blocktng Last but not least comes our full back frm Mrlls l-le was the best all around full back rn the conference He was an excellent punter passer and runner When our team was deep rn our own terrrtory hm krcked out o' danger We needed a frrst down he got 1t for us The success o the team as a whole was due to the excellent coachtng of Mr Allen l-le showed rnterest rn each one of the boys rndrvrdually and helped them to become better players Next year we wrll have several of these boys back and should have an other good team There were al o outstandrng players on our second tearn who kept the boys on the frrst tearn frghttng to keep the1r posrtrons Most of these boys were sophomores and rumors and wtll be back for next years squad 34 ff the Iauers H1 I ' 1 ' ff' ' .
