V 7' ' N' Q K' f 7 - - Y -...,.,-4 vi.T.,,f Coach Puckett Three years ago there came into our midst a tall, awkward looking fellow with tallow colored hair that just wouldn't stay combed, and a disposition that made everyone grin just to look at him. He took up the work of the commercial department and turned out some very successful students. He organized the Commercial club, became the best basket ball rooter in the high school, and gen- erally made himself well known and liked by the student body as well as by the faculty. Then Rushville decided to organize a football team. The athletic coach had his hands full already, so Mr. Puckett took training at a summer school and came back full of pep and knowledge ready to coach the football team. It took a lot of hard work to get started and the team wasn't very successful the first year. But Coach Puckett succeeded in reviving the game and training some ignorant material into iirst class grid-men. Not only was he prominent in athletics but also in journalism, for he sponsored the Rushlite through two very successful years, and thus he has more than N 4 l aff' l .X s F. lm ,F IQK dl vi ' . . l ff f all if '21 1 g, j 3 5 43 l Li?-VH:-JP one touchdown to his credit. At mid-semester this year he received a call , that promised further advancement and he made the 5 1 i A best of this opportunity. What was our loss was their I H .253 gain, when Mr. Puckett accepted a position with the l x 33 Indiana School Supply Company, with his head- 5 U f. quarters in Bloomington. Absent though he is, we J Q E X are proud to have had his friendship and help. t Ig ,..
