Mr. Stephans has been the vocal music driector at RHS for thirteen years. He has directed musicals and plays and even been in a few of them himself. Throughout his career, he has tried to make vocal music fun and exciting. While still invoking fun, he demands discipline, which makes us better in the process. As Mr. Stephans leaves the halls of RHS. we wish him the best of luck at his new academic endeavors. We had the cheerleaders pepping up everyone, the drill team showing their stuff, the football and volleyball seniors giving pep talks, and of course Mr. Reinhardt announcing the royalty. On Thursday we had many sets of Twins walking around the halls. The best set of Twins for the girls were Tara Ronnenberg and Lisa Holland and for the boys it was Joey Rislove and Brian Helleland. On Friday was the usual Green and Gold and Spirit Day. The two wearing the most green and gold was Scott Wenzel and Travis Thorn. The morning hours were spent making the creative floats. The Student Council was busy decorating the gym with stars and clouds and also setting it in rainbow colors. The pepfest started out at 2:35 with the parade following shortly afterwards. The seniors' Trojans are hot. Lions are not took first place with the seventh and eighth grades taking second and third places. The winners of the poster contest was the seniors. That night our game was played in Houston and we played Spring Grove. The band performed a great half-time show and the outcome of the game was 14-15. On Saturday night. Homecoming was coming to an end with Hit 105 playing the theme In My Dreams, and the crowning of the '87 Homecoming Royalty. Our overall record was 10 and 7 and our conference record was 7 and 3 which gave us second place in our conference. We will really miss the six seniors that played this year. It was their leadership and ability that guided us throughout the entire season. Even though we will be small next year, the amount of talent and enthusiasm shown by the returning players will allow us to be very competitive. ADVISOR'S COMMENTS Four gallons of paint and numberous markers were used by this year's Pep Club to convert blank paper into signs that showed that the Trojan spirit was alive and well. These girls, though they were few in number, made sure that the lockers had plenty of creative, personalized signs and that the gym always had some sign's to give the walls some color. The members, led by President Melanie Woxland, worked long hours after school in order to accumulate the thousand points necessary in order to receive a Pep Club pin. The other officers — Sara Tweten, Vice President, Heather Spande, Secretary; and Jen Oian, Treasurer — used their enthusiasm to lead the 1987-88 Pep Club through a very exciting year. This was definitely the year for the Trojans. Every team had a successful season and the Pep Club was there with signs and enthusiasm for every game and match. 59 ROW ONE Dana Grimsrud. James Humble. We would like to thank the Annual Staff for the many long hours after school. We extend a big thank you to Mr. Stephens and Mr. Koenen for their time spent photographing and developing our pictures and to the Tri-County Record for the pictures they provided. Also, to Shirley Gunsted for her time and patience to help us make the 1988 Valley Legend a success. We wish next year's editors and Annual Staff much luck in the making of the 1989 Valley Legend. Much time is needed for the process of it. We had a great time capturing memories for you all to look back upon. Thank You and Goodbye RHS! BRETT TARA .
