1984 Homecoming Royalty First Attendants Queen and King Second Attendants Bruce Darr and Renee Magaard Edie Anderson and Dan Erickson Lynn Humble and Jon Bremseth Ring Bearers Jessica Bernard and Marshall Hoiness Times change, as do the traditions of RHS homecomings. Although the activities of homecoming didn't get kicked off until Thursday, spirits were high. When the doors opened on Thursday, many occupational hazards strolled in. The two, however, who came away with best dressed for the day were Gerri Nielson for her rendition of Billy Idol and Steve Kingsley as a woman. Thursday evening, the bonfire lit the parking lot of the football field. The cheerleaders cheered, ALMOST every class presented a skit, Mr. Smutzler spoke his words of information, the drill team shook it, and last but not least the royalty was announced. The tensions arose as second attendants were announced. They were Lynn Humble and Jon Bremseth; first attendants were Renee Magaard and Bruce Darr; Queen and King were Edie Anderson and Dan Erickson. Friday spirit flowed through school as everyone had green and gold on of some sorts. Those who were rewarded were Joell Dubbs (green hair and all) and Debbie Gielow. The first hours of the day were spent creating works of art to degrade our rivals and homecoming opponents-Houston. The early afternoon for the band members was very wet, why? It's called the half-time show. Practicing for three hours in rain didn't suit many well, however, it paid off because the half-time show looked great. Earlier that afternoon the parade rolled on, however the pepfest was held in the gym. The 9th grade pulled off third place, 7th grade second, and 8th grade first. Soon came time for the final conflict! The mighty Trojans took control of those Canes, rubbed their faces in the ground that they once had defaced and kicked 12-0. How decent! Saturday night we crowned the victory and the royalty and thus put an end to the homecoming celebration for 1984!
