Winneshiek 36 Rushford 23 Houston 34 Rushford 25 Harmony 44 Rushford 23 Grand Meadow 34 Rushford 59 LeRoy 24 Rushford 22 Houston 31 Rushford 6 Caledonia 52 Despite a 2-9 dual meet record, the young Rushford Wrestling team continued to improve its overall performance by scoring more points per meet and allowing fewer points then each of the previous two season. The Trojan squad was led by junior co-captains Dale Brand and Tim Dahl. Brand was district champion at 185 pounds and finished third in the region on his way to a 17-6 record. Dahl placed first at 138 pounds with a fall in the finals to give Rushford its first district Champions in 3 years. Senior Chuck Anderson earned honors for his never say die'' competetiveness, and sophomore heavyweight Vernon Meyers, a region qualifier, was the most improved wrestler. Other standouts from the Trojan squad included Kevin Feine, who finished the season with a 12-4 record before bowing out to a separated shoulder, and Dale Baker, who finished the season with a 9-8 mark. Loosing only two grapplers from this years squad provides high hopes for continued improvement with no less than ten returning lettermen. Coach Hoesley 24

Varsity Season Scores: (1-5) 18-15, 19-17 18-15, 18-13 18-9, 18-6 18-7, 18-11 18-1, 18-14 18-11, 18-2 18-6, 18-6 18-15, 18-11 18-6, 18-7 18-6, 18-7 18-4, 18-9 Our season record does not adequately portray the time, effort, and many sacrifices of the VB girls throughout their season. Many times they came so close to that elusive victory but were unable to clinch it. Experiences on and off the court will always bring back good memories (PAC, purple and orange, etc. ...). Seniors Shawn Becker, Sonia Kjos, Captin Cindy Magaard, and Dawn Norstad will be sorely missed next year. Hopefully, the RHS VB team will gain more success next year with the return of experienced underclassmen and the addition of some very enthusiastic ninth graders. Best of Luck!
