Advisor: Mrs. Mary Gallagher Editors: Kathy Bakken Lisa Johnson Robert McCluskey We dedicate this annual to Robert McCluskey for his many years of service to the students of Rushford as editor of the Tri County Record. We also wish to express our appreciation for his sixyears on the Rushford Board of Education. How much easier our work would be if we put forth as much effort trying to improve the quality of it as most of us do trying to find excuses for not properly attending to it. — George W. The Trojans won the District I Championship, and became the first team in Rushford High School history to be undefeated with a 10-0 record. Under the new computer rating system Rushford did not have enough points to qualify for State Tournaments. This happened because several opponents had unsuffessful seasons, and their records were of little value giving the Trojans points for the computer ratings. The Trojans scored a total of 283 points this season, an average of 28.3 points per game. The opponents scored 52 total points, an average of 5.2 points per game. The Trojans total yardage 3,188, an average of 318.8 yards a game. The opponents had 1,295 yards, an average of 129.5 yards per game. The Trojans rushed 466 times for a total of 2,651 yards, and ended up with 388.6 yards per game. The passing game was 29 for 64 for 53 yards for a 45% completion, averaging 18.5 yards per game. Having six open positions to fill was quite a challenge in itself. Hard work by all the wrestlers on the squad helped to fill these positions and carry us to a pleasing 7-7 dual meet record. In Post-season competition our wrestlers did an excellent job. The Trojans advanced six wrestlers from our district to the Region Tournament. As a team we placed 3rd in the District missing 2nd by a half point. A good part of this year's success can be credited to the leadership from our senior Co-Captains, Jeff Johnson and Ross Nielsen.
