HERE COME THE BRIDES Margaret Jensen-Aunt Ellen Thompson Kathleen Niggle-Mrs. Duvalle Smythe Roberta Betz-McDaniel Janice Olstad-Peg Westfield Margaret Evans- Bubbles Duvalle Vionne Nelson-Lady Macbeth Janet Medhaug-Madge Burns Mr. J. Karlson-Director Ronald Berg-Jimmy Took Larry Loken-Stage Hand Harley Johnson-Stage Hand Donald Stephans-Uncle Dan Took Larry Lange-Mr. Oswold John Woll-Bill Thompson Shirley Wermager-Prompter A weary bunch they were at the end of that evening, but now they were high school students and maybe initiation hadn't been too bad. The first high school year went by rather slowly and the Frosh watched the big cheeses make plans for their prom. Summer came and went, a few new faces were gained and a few old familiar ones were lost but most of them remained to find their old friends with the new name. Sophomore. This year saw a number of their friends climbing behind the wheel of the driver's training car and finally hoping that the man in the maroon suit next to them wouldn't fail them. Again the prom, but this year there were a few of the lowly Sophs in attendance, either as guests, waiters, or as waitresses. The next summer things were a little different. Friends weren't around quite as much and there did not seem to be quite as much fun as before. But these thoughts were lost in the beginning of the Junior year. This year the prom was ours, Garden in the Rain with a red apple tree, wishing well, and garden benches formed a few particulars of our prom. This year there was a noticeable change in the pace with which the year passed and a note of regret was obvious as Pomp and Circumstance marched off some of our Senior friends. Summer again---nobody around--- everybody wishing. But then there was the Frosty Faucet after the Thursday night concerts. And overnight they are Seniors. Somehow it really did seem different. They are the same people, maybe a little more humble, and yet commanding a bit more respect. Especially our Homecoming Queen, Janice Olstad, Homecoming King,Ronald Berg, and their attendants Audrey Highum and Margaret Jensen. Now the year is rapidly closing and graduation is drawing near. Most of them wish they were again lowly Frosh. Many new adventures are awaiting them, and they must accept the challenge of the world.
