Trojans B TEAM BACK ROfft James Dean, John Rislove, George Berg, Donald Runger, Gordon Quale, Robert Rislove FRONT RCMTs Mr. Orville Hanson, Ass't Coaoh, James Swenson, Robert Forsythe, Millard Vitse, Carl Jahr, Donald McElmury, Mr Wilbur Winblad, Coach. 13ASKXTBALL SXASOI The Rushford team traveled to Spring Grove for the first conference game of the season and met with defeat 53 to 27 Dick Saaby and Jack Sngel led Rushford with 7 and 6 points respectively. Canton was Rushford's next foe in a game that was a real thriller. Rushford came out on top in an overtime 36 to 34. Rushford fought an uphill battle all the way after being behind most of the game. Roger Burke and Dick Smaby led Rushford with 11 and 9 points respectively. The following week Rushford traveled to Harmony where the Trojans were defeated 48 to 28. Caledonia was the foe for Rushford1 second conference win of 34-25 Miller led Caledonia with 10 points while Burke was high for Rushford with 17. After Christmas vacation, Rushford came back to defeat Peterson for their third conference win. The final score was 49 to 35 Preston defeated Rushford in its next conference game 6l to 34 to drop Rushford back to 500 rating in the conference standings. Rushford1s next game was with Wykoff in which Rushford was the victor 44 to 40. Dick SJaaby led Rushford with 16 points. The next game was one of the most miserable games of the season. Rushford lost to Spring Valley 30 to 18. 7or the next game the team traveled to Chat-field in a battle to see which team would be in fourth place. After being behind at the end of three quarters, the Trojans made a last quarter come-back to win 37 to 34. Burke led the Rushford attack with 16 points. Rushford found the winning touch again in Its next game with L neeboro. Rushford led Lanes-boro through the entire game and won 46 to 27. The team then traveled to Houston to lose an overtime game 33 to 31. Rushford ended conference play in a game with oo-ohampion Mabel. Mabel's height and deadly shooting were too much for Rushford and the Trojans went down in defeat 58 to 34. In the district tournament held at Houston, Rushford drew Spring Grove and was eliminated from tournament play 67 to 48. Medhaug and Burke led the Rushford attack with 14 and 11 points respectively. 35
