Our first day of school was very shocking. Most of us were crying when our mothers left us. But Miss Gretum, our first grade teacher, wiped our tears away and soon we found it was a lot of fun in school especially recess. Most of us had a hard time leaming the other's names. They were Ilene Anderson,John Anderson, Diane Carlson, June Eells, Bronson Erickson, Nicholas Grote, Raymond Kennen, Ellen Karas, James Larson, David Lindstrom, Kay Kirchberg, Gene Johnson, Glorialohnson, Loren Johnson, Richard Scheele, Barbara Schneider, Bernice Sederberg, and Mary Young. Then we made it into second grade, we were real proud of ourselves. Miss Poegel was our teacher, we found that we had to settle down and learn. Bonnie Ferguson, Lorna Hawkinson, Fred Pals, Loretta Schoeberl, and Marlene Rudquist joined our happy class. Miss Baker was our third grade teacher. This was the year the boys found the cloakroom to be handy for certain things. Also we tried an experiment by putting a volleyball on the radiator and of course it blew up to our amazement. Duane Nessel joined us this year. Miss Hruby, our fourth grade teacher, tried to teach us how to multiply but we found it very difficult. Didn't we! ! Well, we all passed to fifth grade, the teacherwas Miss Brask. Rememberwhen we usedto be late and we sneaked through the cloakroom so we wouldn't be caught coming late. More Fun!! Good old days. Agree?? Robert Friday came to us this year to enjoy the good times. Sixth grade was very enjoyable year with Mrs. Palbicki. Boys, remember when she lost her garter and you felt sorry for her and went up town and bought her a new one. Remember the activity hours of all the goofed up things we made. Seventh grade at last. Carol Rothenbacher, Elaine Wendt, Bemard Effertz, DeanRamberg, Darrell Ramberg, Norman Timm, Bob Peno, James Waxberg, Ernie Blaisdell, Bill Peterson and Ray Kennen joined us. This was the year we terrorized the students and teachers by racing down the hall. Boy, how we hated music. Mr. Christenson had to march us down each day to Mrs. Olson, who was always telling us to Pul1 your strings. Many of us also had soreheads after connecting with Mr. Furney's math book a few times. Our eighth grade was very mischievous. Poor Miss Grundset was unlucky enough to have our English Class. No wonder she left the next year. Remember all our numerous class parties that were always fun? Charlotte Pugsley, Henry Knapp, and Wayne Lundeen joined us that year. We became known as The Vandals after our famous trip to the Capital and Ford Plant in our Freshman year. lt seems several things followed us back. The year was climaxed by our schoolpicnic, which somehow ended in waterfights. Pat Nelson became a member of our happy class that year. We were joined in our Sophomore year by Janice Hauglie. Our Courtesy Ball, Lullaby in Birdland, was very successful. This is the year drivers licenses came into our existance. QWow what a riot! !J Hank's seemed to be the most popular hangout. We received our class rings in our Junior year. Our class play Down to Earth was a smash hit this year. Our Prom Sweethearts in Dreamland was also a big success. Well at last we made it to our Senior year. This was probably our busiest and most eventful year. Now that we finally made it some of us sort of regret leaving. 12
