Meetings are held twice each month. The club has been active in various civic projects connected with school and community life. The first school project was a clean-up campaign in the building and on the school grounds. several meetings were devoted to conducting facsimiles of a trial by jury, and a sess- ion of The Congress of The United States. Mr. B. M. Giles, officer for the sixteenth parole and probation district of Virginia told the club of his work in this area. The final project of the year is re- writing the chapter in the textbook on The League of Nations. The Civics Club is gathering material to re- place this chapter with one on The United Nations.

C. Killinger Le Cerle Francais was organized in 1945 with Mrs. J. C. Killinger as club adviser. Program and social committees are appointed at the beginning of the year and meetings are held monthly. The purpose of the club is to create an interest in the French Language and an understanding of French culture. Uevotionals are conducted in French. several French songs have been learned and French games are played at every meeting.
