N., 4 THE GLUE CLUB President ------------------- Don Musser Vice-President --------- Joan Copenhaver Secretary-Treasurer- ------ --Lois Blair Reporter --------------------- Max Irvin The Glee Club was reorganized in October of this year with Miss Margaret Humphrey as Counselor and Mr. Marten Neff as Director. Rehearsals are held in the auditorium two periods each week. Objectives for the year include assistance in enter- taining the district meeting of the Virginia Federation of Music Clubsg the presentation of a special Christmas.program for the community sponsored jointly by the MacDowe1l Music Club and the P. W. A. and participation in the regional Music Festival in Bristol March 22nd. The first semester was devoted to learning simple four- part arrangements for soprano, alto, tenor, and bass. The second semester work included intensive study of the re- quired numbers fer the Bristol Music Festival and the music for Com encement.

In October, the candle-light induction service was held for the new members. The club chose Misses Kathryn Etter, Martha Brown, and Mary Kathryn Nininger as their active sponsors and Miss Josephine Tarter as their honorary sponsor. The most outstanding events of the year were the formal Valentine Dance and the annual Mother-Daughter Banquet.
