t t I is . -KW .A - Class Histor Under the apprarsrng glare of the upper classmen we as freshmen boldly crowded into all of the act1v1t1es rangmg from sports to chorus That year we saw a hlghly success ful football season and for the first trme rn our school s baseball hrstory our team walked off wxth the Central Jersey Group I Champlonshrp Students Day was rnaugurated and 1S now an annual event It was fun to prepare for the gym show Then and Now contrast mg 1950 wlth 1900 Our sophomore year was rather unspectacular 1n the sports world Now a definrte part of the school system we had three of our grrls on the cheering squad an officer ln the Student Councrl and we were even permltted to attend the semor Jam sesslons To prove we had talent ln our school a few of our classmates starred 1n the mystery comedy Home Sweet Homxclde Lucklly no one was lost when the biology class took a trip to the Bronx Zoo ln order that they could study nature 1n the raw Our most eventful year was our Junior year We halled a successful football season which was hrghllghted by the trampling of Red Bank to the tune of 44 0 Our gxrls became hockey champs ln a trght battle wrth the seniors just before Chrlstmas our long awarted class rings arrlved and we sported them wrth prlde befittlng our stature Leap Year came and true to tradition our grrls asked their favorlte beaus to the dance whxch was held rn the gym Two years had passed quickly and we found ourselves preparmg for another gym show the theme for whlch was the dlfferent seasons of the year Many of us now had reached the age of seventeen and could legally sit behmd the wheel of a car So on June the slxth we headed our strange lookmg vehrcles toward a glorlous Nrght rn New York whlch was the theme of our prom The best IS saved for last our semor year We started off w1th a ba g when some of the boys who asplred to he Indians adopted the appropriate halr cut Our football team nnght not have won many games but they provlded stiff competxtron untrl the final gun Our glrls agaln estabhshed the fact that they were the best hockey players m the school by trounclng the Jumors 2 to 1 1n a playoff game Chrrstmas came and we all looked forward to the Hohday Hop An ommous task confronted us that of pubhshmg our yearbook Through the efforts of our competent staff and countless hours of work we surmounted the problem and produced thls yearbook We have completed the 1953 Tower and have endeavored to portray the memorles of our student days in its pages As we graduate and go our separate ways we feel the sp1r1t of loyalty to our school and comradeshrp for our classmates We as classmates w1ll never agam experlence our four years of high school together and though we are leavmg part of us wrll always remam We w1ll say our good byes w1th nostalgxa hoping that we wrll be able to see our future wlth the same mamfestatlon that we are able to see our past l i 1 v J . . . . . . r - ' . . , . r - . . , . . ax U . .
