There is too much Life Adjustment education. Too many courses are being sugarcoatedg and too many of our students are shying away from mathematics, science and similar courses, with the result that to-day the number of engineers, scientists and other technically trained personnel being graduated is barely enough to fill replacement requirements and is falling far short of filling the needs of our present era of rapid discovery and almost unbelievable technological process. Young people with inquisitive minds and a good education have many golden opportunities to step right into good paying positions and to fulfill dreams of doing something big and exciting. America's need for young people with technical training has made this the day of opportunity for the college graduate. Our students, though, are not rising to the occasion because too many drop out of schoolg and too many who remain in school do not really apply themselves, with the result that recent high school students look back on their high school days as a time of fun, friendships and wasted opportunities- time fritted away because of not enough foresight, inspiration and perspiration. Boys and girls, be smart enough to recognize a good thing when you see it. You have the great- est opportunity of any generation, so face this reality and do something about your education while you can, realizing, too, that you are the only ones who can make your dreams come true.
