Captain Eddie Sexton fires away as Juanita Shook, Ricky Sands, Dwight Mynatt, and Harold Farmer look on. Bowling Team Rule has added bowling to its sports program. The Varsity Bowling Team con- sists of both boys and girls, and is one at the fourteen high schools represented in the KIL League. The team bowls each Sunday at Western Plaza, and all are mem- bers of the American Junior Bowling Con- gress. Rule rolls against each team twice and placed sixth at the end of the first half. The Team consisting of Rick Sands, Dwight Mynatt, Howard Farmer, Libby Lane, Juanita Shook, Glenda Wade, Sandy Chap- man, and Eddie Sexton, Captain, received varsity letters and bowling shirts in a spe- cial chapel. Coach, as he was known to everyone, was honored -for his many years of faithful service at Rule. The faculty and student body pre- sented him a complete set of golfing equip- ment. Tennessee Polytechnic lnstitute realized his coaching abilities and offered him a better position than he had here at Rule. l l Q 2 W.. 473. U it Toddy Baker winning the two-mile relay. l O Running Bears Charlie Lawson running the hurdles. Three schools records were broken by Coach Kyle Keck's '64 track team. Charles Lawson and John Beam broke records in the high and low hurdles respectfully. The two mile relay team, composed of Jerry Vaught, Nelson Crawford, Jerry McCarter, and Bill Hickey, also set a school mark of 9.03. Q The team scoring was led by captain Toddy Baker and Jerry Vaught who went to the Regional meet in the 880 yard run. Only one boy was lost by graduation, so the future looks bright for Bears. 32
