The I964-65 Rule basketball team was led by Captain Jerry McCarter in compiling a hard earned 8-I8 record. Jerry led the team in scoring, both from the field and foul line, averaging l6 points per game and finishing in the top ten in scoring in the K. l. L. Mike Padgett led the team in rebounding, followed by John Underwood, our only senior. The varsity, being very young and inexperienced, played much better than the record shows. The honors this year went to, Captain Jerry McCarter, making the second team All K. I. L. and second team All AA, and Mike Padgett and John Beam received honorable mention. Coach Keck, Coach Lowery, John Beam, Lonnie Dunlap, Mike Padgett, Bobby Latham, Derrill Jones, Toddy Baker, John Underwood, and Jerry McCarter, are having a pep talk before a game. 3' .gf ii QQ The Rule High B Team finished the season with a record of l2 wins and lO losses. The team this year promises to produce one of the best varsity squads Rule High has had in the past few years. Several boys who did outstanding jobs this year were Eddie Powers, Doug Hagaman, Mike Stephens, Bruce Taylor, Robert Mayes, Jimmy Flannagan, Robert Pressley, and John Curry. Junior High Team-First Row: Stormy Lindsay, Jimmy Raines, Larry Flanagan, Larry Weaver, Terry Mutta, Mr. Worley, Coach. Second Row: Ernie Bell, Robert Lee, Cecil Earles, Robert Walker, Steve Kid- well, Benny Prince. , e t S4 'iii-.Via B Teom-First Row: Jack Daniels, Bruce Taylor, Robert Pressley, Jim Flanagan, Bobby Mays, Ronnie Inman. Second Row: Larry Waterson, Mike Stephens, John Curry, Ray Herron, Gerald Barbee, Bill Boat- man. Rule Junior High had a 4-lO season record this year. Larry Weaver was the only returning player from last year, and we had to start building. The team started out slowly, but had improved by the end of the season. The last game of the season was the best. It was an overtime game with Beardsley Junior, who was tied for first place, and Rule was beaten by two points. Robert Walker and Larry Weaver were the outstanding players of the team. 'bw .19
