S WOR HI TORY lf was in the year :f nineteen hunlreii and lortyfcur that we, the senior class ci '48, entered inc the gates of olrl Bule High to start cur careers in secondary education. Through continuous eficri and perseverance, this class shall iiave been one cf the greatest assets to the history oi our Alma Mater. During our froshmzn and sophomore years, nothing very iniportaiit liagigwxteri except the la- t that we had rraiiipletwd halt ol our iiicjh school trend. lt was in those yefirs, however, that we termed a foundation tor the work illT'?C1'i of us. As we enterefl our iunior year we bccanie deter- rninei to maize it the very best junior cirss. Cur tirst activity was the Amateur Hour given in Novemlier. Charles Maples and Bill Fox announced the program and almost all the performers were members of the iunior cliiss. EVO entertained the senior cla'ss by inviting them to a Valentine Party at the lessamine Street Becrertion Cen- ter, Never shall we forget the aches and pains received from square dancing to Bobo Brewer's music and Miss Cotter's calling. Again we played host to the senior class April lO, l947, at the annual luxiior and Senior Banquet, lt was given at the S. G YN, Cafeteria and the evenings en- joyment was high lighted by the antics of our toast- master and President, Bill Fox. Soon it was time for our class play, A Case of Springtime, and the cast consisted of Bill Thomas, De- lores Beets, Vlrenshflrll Vancel, Ezel Rathbone, Patricia Carroll, Elmer King, Barbara Lane, Charles Maples, Bar- bara Akers, Lassie Smith, Carolyn Yearweod, Sam McAfee, Don Blaclcstock, Frances Pinclcard, and Ruth liVest. To end our lunior activities, we had our outing at Chilhew-fee Park. Vfe skated and bowled and then ate a wonderful picnic supper. 'Ive are now at las: dignified seniors and we can li :rciiy believe we have almost reached our goal. 'We elected Bill Fox and lim Moore for our President anal Vice-President, respectively, lo Miller was elected Secretary, Elizabeth Burrieite, Treasurerp and Delores Beets, Social Chairman. Our class continued to grow in statue, intellectual ability, and in social achievements. Some of the outstanding persons are: Wrenshall Vancel, outstanding junior, Carl Whited and lim Walker, Co-Captains of the foot-ball team: Barbara Akers, Barbara Amburn, Nana Anderson, Dorothy Arrowood, Billye Bayless, Ruth Christy, Carolyn Fuson, Ida Hampton, Eleanor Harbin, Vlinitred Lackey, W'ilma Llewellyn, lim Moore, Frances Pinckard, Ruby Pittman, Albert Shipley, Wrenshall Vanc-el, and Carolyn Yearwood, members of the National Honor Society, Billye Bayless, D.A.R. Piepresentativeg Barbara Arnburn, com- coser ot the class sang: Bill Fox, Mr. Rule High, Elizabezh Burnett, Miss Rule High: and Ruby Pittman won honors in the National Scholastic Art Contest.
