676155 ,M5f0ry of f 6 ln September 1942 the graduatlng class of 1946 entered Rule Hlgh School Dunng these four years we have experxenced the destructlve power of war and the thnll of the declarauon of peace We knew that there were respons1b1l1t1es and obhgatlons wh1ch we must answer mf we reached our goal--graduatxon We were eager and w1ll1ng to work During our freshman and sophomore years we were busy W1th our school work and war GCl1V1l1GS We could proudly say that we had reached the halfway mark 1n our Journey through h1gh school When we entered our Jumor year we were ready and w1ll1ng to take part 1n some of the school act1v1t1es after two years probatlonary perlod W1th Edsel Reed as our presldent ably assxsted by Iune Whxted v1ce presxclent and Lucy Rogers secretary and treasurer we sponsored an amateur hour Edsel and Clalr dlsplayed unusual talent as masters of cere mony In May we presented the thrxlllng exc1t1ng mystery play Murdered Alive The fol lowlng Jumors were members of the cast V1rg1n1a Ottlnger Kathleen Farmer Dxacha Hol brook Ruby Dutton Lucy Rogers Mary Fred McPherson Dorothy Kldd Carl Neff Cl1nton McCloud Clalr W1ll1GH1S Hubert Wolbach Eugene Scrlvner These entertalnments were very successful In May we were hosts at the Junlor senlor banquet wh1ch was g1ven at Broadway Baptlst Church Cla1r W1ll1ams as toastrnaster and an entertalnlng program arranged by the pro Our outlng at Ch1lhowee Park was our last Jun1or act1v1ty We skated bowled played soft ball and then had a p1cn1c supper Upon enterlng our senlor year at Rule we could hardly reallze that we had almost reach ed the goal wh1ch we had started out to attaln ln 1942 We were now d1gn1f1ed semors The followlng offxcers were elected Edsel Reed presldent lack Ensor VICG presldent Betty Davls secretary Harry Bell treasurer In October the class chose Cla1r Wllhams as edltor of Golden Memones W1th the eff1c1ent staff selected to ald the edltor we hope that th1S w1ll be one of the best annuals ever pub llshed by Rule Hlgh School Our Barn Warmm Party 1n the gymnas1um was a gala affa1r Boys and g1rls al1ke wore pla1d shlrts We danced took part m the varlous games and contests and had a wonderful tlme Paul Gregg and Barbara Hlckey were voted the cormest couple Early 1n November the candldates for Mr and M1ss Rule Hlgh were nomlnated In the electlon that followed lune Wh1ted was chosen M1ss Rule Hlgh and Harry Bell Mr Rule Hlgh There are many more events on our school calendar for th1s year We shall look forward to our class play banquets outlng and commencement week UCl1V1l19S As members of the 1946 Senlor Class of Rule I-hgh School we should llke to express our appreclatlon to our parents and teachers for helplng us prepare ourselves to meet the prob lems of a world that has been torn asunder by war We shall always remember the many happy years spent at Rule Hlgh School , .
