DECEMBER - 1941 Dear DiaryAThe girls- social Club went out to the Soldiers' Home with Christmas presents and cookies. and I imagine they enjoyed themselves as much as the soldiers did. JANUARY - 1942 Dear Diary f Off to school again, and hr-r-r is it cold! All the girls are wear- ing snowpants! Dear Diary-We had a treat in chem- istry class today-,lim Berry gave the most interesting speech! He talked at Marquette U., too. Dear Diary- Pete and I went to the Victory Ball tonight, and I wore my new swishy White formal. We saw Warren Giese, president of the graduat- ing class, and Pat Patek, who looked so cute. Everything was simply scrump- tious! M-In-nl! Dear Diary+lVIost of the January graduates looked so happy tonight at commencement exercises! A few looked a little sad though. Wonder why?
