SEPTEMBER - 1941 Dear Diary v- Today Pete and I, and Pete's trusty camera Went out to Watch football practice-and when the boys Weren't looking-Pete snapped them- he got one too of Coaches Hanks and Wolf, with Jimmy Sixty, Golly, they looked so intense! Dear Diary-Today it rained like everything and Pete and I turned our reversihles. I het it would have been loads of fun to slosh about in the sta- dium, like Jim Berry and Ray Guenther were doing. Dear Diary-Hooray! Two Whole days of vacation for the American Le- gion convention! The Legionnaires are having fun, and so are We. Dear Diary-The library here is a wonderful place to look up something, as anyone can guess from seeing this picture.

SEPTEMBER - 1941 Dear Diary'-Back to school this morning, and I guess I'11 just have to admit that Pm glad to return to good old King! This year promises a lot of study, exams, and FUN .... Dear Diary-It was so exciting see- ing everyone again, and finding out which teachers we have this semester. Thank goodness, Pete is in one of my classes. Here's a picture of the new teachers, Mr. Stewart, Miss Layman, and Mr. Barr. Dear Diary-The boys in the hook- store certainly worked hard today, in this picture you can see what an anxious group there was waiting to huy paper 'n' pencils 'n' hooks. Dear Diary- Here's an adorable pic- ture of Vernell Luehke and Elaine Mueller looking over some new hooks in the library.

SEPTEMBER - 1941 Dear Diary-Today we all went out to the stadium and had a big pep rally. We yelled and hollered and practiced songs for the first of the season's games this Friday night. Dear Diary-Oh, what fun! Pete and I were so happy ,cause we beat Marquette tonight by a score of 8-0. Dear Diary-How time flies-just think, one month of the semester is almost oVe1'.
