Rick Lussie Work Experience Coordinator ,Y ff? Q' ll f- N 7 3. i .ii The Work Experience Program The Work Experience Program at Ruby Van Meter fosters the vocational potential of each student. Students enrolled in the Vocational Unit are appraised according to individual apti- tudes, abilities and interests. Following this, the student part- icipates in work activities within the school. This may consist of completing work samples or completing job contracts that are provided by the community. In-school exploratory experiences and training opportunities exist in the area of custodial aides, food service, and the laundry training program. Selected students are placed in competitive jobs within the community following training. One of the program's major goals is to aid in the transition from school to the appropriate vocational setting within the community. ' A summer program is also available at Goodwill Industries. Work attitudes and skills are refined at this time. Mr. Lussie coordinates the Work Experience program.
