Seniors Choose Who Will be All Rubidoux V har is All Rubidoux? Thar is rhe main question rhor goes around while nominees ore being selected for this category. All Rubidoux is o special honor that goes to one girl and one boy who have shown some type of leadership within their club, class, or school! Senior Class Council, A5D, ond faculty mem- bers nominate students who they feel would be most appropriate for the category. After the nominees had been narrowed down, the sen- ior class votes. This year the seniors elected Craig Johnson ond Misti Dowson. Croig ' s most important activity while of Rubi- doux has been serving as President every year. I hove given of myself to maKe the class of ' 82 number 1. The activity that has held the most impor- tance to me has been student government. This was Q direct support of the doss of ' 82 and it , held the most reponsibiliries. Being on Student Council was a lot of hard work, but very re- wording, commented Misti Dowson. Doth Croig and Misti hove worked hard for their doss ond felt that ' 82 will always be consid- ered number 1. Vhen asked how it felt to be chosen os All Rubidoux, Croig replied, I om exultant! This honor carries a great deal of meaning to me and I will always look bock ot this award with gratitude. There ' s no better woy to end my years of service to l ubidoux High. Misti re- vealed, Being selected All Rubidoux was definitely o surprise. I have sincerely supported my class throughout my yeors at Rubidoux and when they supported me, I felt it was more than worth my while. Other activities that Croig has been involved in, induded DSU, Spirit Club, Track, Madrigals, Bodmitton, FDLA, Speech Team, and Drama. Croig feels that his greatest accomplishment has been attending the Notional FBLA Conven- tion in Chicogo and placing 4rh in Extemporane- ous Speaking. Misti ' s octivities indude Freshrnon JV ond Var- sity Cheer, Spirit Club, Prom committee, CSF, Girl ' s State Representative, 4 years honor roll and 4 years perfect attendance. When osked who hod influenced her most, Misti replied, There really wasn ' t any one per- son who influenced me to be active other than myself. It is just a feeling of pride I hove for my school ond doss thot gives me the initiative to participate actively. Craig ' s answer was completely different. During my 9th grade year Mr. Vidol ployed o great port in directing me towards student gov- ernment. Outside of Rubidoux, two people hove greatly influenced my life. Dr. Martin Lu- ther King Jr. showed me dedication while Je- sus Christ showed me happiness, joy, peace, and eternal life. | 1 All Rubidoux - Craig Johnson and MIstI Dawson. 2.
