AFS members began planning o speciol week- end five monrhs prior ro rhe anricipored occa- sion. Alrernorives were scrurinized, possible oc- riviries were debored ond rhe end producr was AFS weekend. Foreign ond domesric exchange srudenrs who lived wirh families in Sourhern California were f HS ' s guesrs of honor on April 23rd. They visired dosses ro inform RHS srudenrs of various counrries around rhe globe. The weekend was conrinued wirh ocriviries including a soccer march, porluck, swimming, roller skoring, and a Sunday ofrernoon picnic. Grettel Lopez from Cosro Rico, Gabriel Go- mez from Argenrine, Johon Geirnoert from Belgium, and Hijrol Ozcon from Turkey were rhe exchange srudenrs who orrended PvHS. When Club Veek was held during March, rhese srudenrs were especially oppreciored for rheir unique food soles ideas. Each suggested ond prepared a fovorire homemode recipe rhar sold like Grandma ' s good old-fashioned horcokes! Furrher successful fund raisers were candy soles, cor washes, and in early June, snow cone sales or rhe Jurupo Rodeo. | 1.
