LiQ Wins Honors For Guinea Pig Collecrion I o some, raising guineo pigs may seem kind of unusual, bur Liz Spiekermon doesn ' t rhink so. She gor her firsr guinea pig when she was in i- indergorren. She evenrually began ro show rhe furry animals. She srarred compering in 1976. I love showing my pigs, I feel . . . Proud!, revealed Liz. When a guineo pig is displayed, ir ' sjudged on conformorion, rype, and color. Dreed is on im- porranr porr of rhe guinea pig comperirion. When Liz breeds her pigs she checks for uni- formiry, good chorocrerisrics and color. Her ef- forts won her Top Breeder in rhe United Stotes for the yeor 1980-81. My guinea pigs keep me busy! They ore a port of my doily routine, stoted Liz. My mom is extremely supporrive. At one time I wonted to quit because I was getting bored, but my mom persuaded me to stay with it. The sophomores hod five condy soles during rhe school yeor, raising opproximorely 50% of rhe sophomore doss money The condy sold was selecred in on ordinance wirh school board policy adopred in 1980. Thar policy limired srudenrs ro selling only candy rhor was nurririous.
