DEDICATION Herschel Morgan In Memoriam Shock and grief spread over the entire school and community when we learned of the going away of Mr. Morgan. He had been a faithful laborer in our midst. He was loyal to his students always speaking of them as our boys 'and girls. He spent the major portion of his time in behalf of the children who later mourned his passing. We all feel that life has been made more worth while by having known Mr. Morgan. If our departed friend and educator could speak, he would use the words of that great poet, Tennyson. The Crossing of the Bar Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me! And may there be no moaning of the bar, When I put out to sea.. But such a tide as moving seems asleep, Too full for sound and foam, When that which drew from out the boundless deep, Tums again home. Twilight and evening bell, And after that the dark! And may there be no sadness of farewell, When I embark: For tho' from out our boume of time and place, The flood may bear me far, I hone to see my pilot face to face, When I have crossed the bar. We the seniors of 1948. wish to dedicate our annual to the memory of our friend and teacher - - -- Herschel Morgan.

FOREWORD With a strong desire and earnest thought we the class of '48 have attempted to portray within the covers of this book our fellow students and teachers as they pro- gress onward through the school year leaving their mark of friendship and love upon everyone they meet. It has been with earnest and tiring effort that we have completed this book under the masterful direction of Mr. Penrod. We have striven to portray to you the long list of organizations and activities of our school during the past year. A book, that today is a source of pleasing entertain- mentg tomorrow, it will hold a greater and deeper import- ance. Its likeness will describe a new message of pleasing memories and happy remembrances, which will have been made dearer by the passing of time.
