Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away. -Henry David Thoreau Memories. Memories - so lovely and gentle, take me back to people, places and things I once loved, but can't anymore. It's no one's fault except for time - constantly changing, yearning for something new and differ ent each moment. Sometimes I wish I could stop time, or reverse it. I think that is so only because I am so very blind to the future. -DyAnne Korda In Memory of Thomas J. A.F.S.-1976-77 Our 1976-1977 Royall High School A.F.S. student, Piero Visani, re- laxes in 'his native country of Switzerland. Piero has been staying with the Clarence Beres' family of Elroy, Wis- cousin. Piero has been spending his year with his American brother , Alan Kouba, and his family. Dear Royall, My name is Piero Visani, and I am the 1976-1977 Royall A.F.S. student. I come from Switzerland, where Ihave been living for 15 years. I am, however, a pure Italian boy and have spent my Iife in both countries. I am spending and living one of the best years of my life in your country. It is a year that I will never forget. I have found really nice, good, and also, funny people in Royall High School. This is both among teachers and students. The only thing that I did not tind among Royall students is a good grade of maturity required QI thinkj for kids of 14-18 years old. I hope that my relationship with everybody will be as good as it is now. I expect to make more and more friends. During the year in the U.S.A., Ihave lived in another so- ciety with people of different customs and language from ' those of my country. Ihave come to understand a lot of things. I have realized how many stereotypes there are in our minds about people of other countries. Ihope I have learned to overcome them. I hope that as I am becoming aware, living with you, that people in all the world are equal. This is the main thing that I hope you have known in me. Maybe by knowing each other in this way, we will learn how to like and love people of all the world. Piero Piero and his brothers, Davide and Fabio. -'v -, nf. A. E F554 ,rl ht 4 1.
