CLASS PROPHECY The year is 1977 and we, the class of 1967, are meeting for the tenth anniversary of our graduation from good old Royall High. The reunion committee, which wishes to remain anonymous, is interviewing our former classmates about their present occupa- tions and accomplishments in the past ten years. The truth about their activities is now aired for the first time to the public. Brad Shrake has become the head of Standard Oil Corporation. He has recently hired a new secretary who is experienced in the petroleum business, Carolyn Moe. Larry Grawin, the manager of a bean factory, is still a confirmed bachelor. Dean Preuss and Gary Stanek supply the pork for Larry’s beans. Dick Beier is now living very happily with his wife, his nanny Sue Lee, and ten kids. Doctor Gregory Bever and his nurse, Deb Steinhoff, delivered all the children. Dick has become famous for his hit record, “Ten Years Ago.” His release is recorded by the Michael Crow Crowing Enterprises. Dennis Holtz and Rod Pipkom have written a new dictionary. They always did have their own way of talking. Greg Flock and Lee Wyttenbach have successfully opened a fifth night club in Las Vegas. The club features a twenty girl chorus line headed by their former class- mates, the Strozinsky Stars—those little bundles of dynamite—Mary Jo and Marcia. Roger Pisha is the club’s strong arm bouncer. Jay Wolfenden has become a well known scientist concerned with the Laser beam. Louise Greene is his faithful secretary. Pat Donnelly, the world-renowned defeise attorney, is presently defending Dan Me Garvey and Tom Masters on a charge of illegal parking. The judge presiding over the case is His Honor Stan Garfoot. Jane Lawrence and Jane Laufenberg have kept up their good driving principles and recently opened a driving school in Death Valley. Some of their prize pupils include Mary Welch, Betty Lewerenz, Kathy Vlasak, and Elizabeth Stanton. Bernadette Piekarz heads a Red Cross Center located at the bottom of Death Valley. Patty Hericks and Jeannie Kranz have developed a new perfume named “Moon- shine.” This scent really “lights” you up. Kirby Grant has become Wrestling Coach at that institution of superior athletics, Royall. It should be a championship team because of the great coaching ability of Kirby and his old teammate. Assistant Dave Bender. Also in the coaching profession are Maria LaBansky and Carol Maseberg who have opened a cheerleading academy. Jan Mullins has finally become a professional golfer after a long hard struggle with that little white ball. Jeannie Nelson, with her artistic talent, is a fashion designer for “Mad Magazine.” Kindergarten teacher, Sherri Nading, has had several sets of quintuplets and will soon start her own private kindergarten. 61 Connie Shaker is the manufacturer of the world’s best selling flying scooter. Some of his little scooter maker employees are Duane Olson, Jim Ambort, Bernie Britzman, and the master scooter tester, Jerry Zirk. Jim Udelhoven and Tom Handland have developed a new type of horse, the one and a half horse. The horse which runs at speeds exceeding one hundred miles per hour is scheduled to run in the Indianapolis 500. Good luck! Dan Tillman is the new employer at Tillman Produce. Since the change to automa- tion, only five people are needed to operate the huge plant. These five are all former Royall scholars and Class of ’67 members: Donnie Olson, Vernon Lewerenz, Gerald Cleaver, Ronald Leis, and that turkey lover, Marlys Schultz. Cheryl Parish and Debbie Preuss have opened a Finishing School in New York. Pat Dwyer, Royall’s finest Ag student ever, still claims that he is the best Holstein breeder in the United States and the rest of the world, too. This committee agrees. Harland alias “Honey” Prechel has “started” a new life” and opened a pretzel factory. Don Schroeder, his assistant, passed out free samples of Prechel’s pretzels to each of us. The columns of Kathy Lee and JoAnn Tillman have replaced Ann Landers and Dear Abbey with their own experienced advice to the love-lorn and to each other. Arthur Thompson has become General Manager of the “Artie Mae” Foods Corpora- tion. Some of “Artie Mae’s” skillful personnel are: Carol Lydon—chief cook and bottle washer, Larry Whitinger—meat-cutter and price-stamper, and Douglas Waege—milk- bringer. We are honored today to have in our presence, Dennis Boeder, our State Repre- sentative to the White House. John Weber runs his very own sweater company. His unique sweaters are made from the fine webs of spiders. Nice hey! John Weber’s Webbed Sweaters are known around the world for theih fine weave. The Liek girls, Barb and Joanne, have written a book entitled “The Mystery of the “Leaky Faucet and How to Stop It.” Carol Anderson is the new editor of McCall’s magazine, and Deb Anderson is the fashion designer for the magazine. The name of the publication is soon to be changed to Anderson’s. Virginia West has entered the political field. She is the newly elected state treas- urer of West Virginia. Where else? Ron Binter is a Mauston policeman wjho strictly enforces the speed laws. Only re- cently he hired Larry Gloede to drive his police car because his license had been re- voked. He was caught traveling at 155 m. p. h. in an 85 m. p. h. zone. Ron tried to explain to County Judge Gale Burkhalter that he was merely doing his duty by chasing Darlene Fauska, the State Champion Powder Puff Dragster, but the judge claimed Ron had a dishonest face. Ellen Verwiebe has finally achieved her ambition in life. She is president of the Wisconsin State University at La Crosse. Didn’t she always say she wanted to be a gang leader at college? Jim Dwyer, our once outstanding basketball player, is now head basketball coach at UCLA. We always knew he was “out standing in his field.” 62 Portia Duncan is a famous actress on a weekly television program. It seems that there was a talent scout at “Brother Goose,” an old Royall production. Ott’s Outdoor Theater is doing a tremendous business in Kendall. Clarence is assist- ed by his able ticket sellers, Linda Kennedy, and Nancy Mayberry. Vicky Schulz, known as one of America’s better artists, has recently undertaken the gigantic task of painting a Pabst sign on the Statue of Liberty. Dianne Scholze, her loyal assistant, holds the ladder steady for the artist. This project is supported by the Alumni Association of R. H. S. We received news of a plane crash involving a few of our former classmates. The pilot—Dale Preuss, and stewardess—Dodie Searles safely baled out onto a desert island. The designer of the plane, Dick Schwedrsky, was blamed for the crash because of the breakage of both of the wings. A passenger on the plane, Brenda Solchenberger, who is an opera star, went down with the plane and we have heard that she is now singing to the natives of Bora Bora. The “Parrish” Bug Spray Company, headed by Gail and Terry Parrish, tells us that their new slogan, “All bugs must parrish,” is deadly successful. James Leuth, an international spy for the C. I. A., is code named by the enemy as “Leuth the Sleuth.” Sam Michel, the noted chemist, has developed a revolutionary new pill to keep students awake during school hours. Sam says that it works subconsciously on the brain. Another dramatic development with pills involves the new cooks at good old Royall High: Judy Friedl, Cheryl Burkhalter, and Kandy Eckelberg. Their job is not as diffi- cult as always. They merely pass out food pills during study halls. No time is wasted for noon hour! Sharon Bender has replaced Debbie Drake as a T. V. exerciser. Her motto is “Bend ’er.” Gary Colvin is a good will ambassador to Red China. His valet is Marvin Bruegge- man. These unselfish men are desperately needy and needed. John Chute has replaced Matt Dillon on Gunsmoke. He’s now really in the “chut- ing” business. His trusty deputy is Geral Krause, a good man with a horn or a gun. Now that this anonymous committee has finally finished its job, we are free to enjoy the party! DIAPERS TO DIPLOMAS Dick B. Tom M. Debby P. Joanne L. Don S. S. Cheryl N. Connie S. Carol L. Terry P.
