Jim Sterba, a CBS salesman of Doberman movies, was stand- ing there as big as ever. Boarding the plane together, we met Nancy W ildes, flight hostess, who showed us to a couple of seats. After take-off we started dis- cussing the whereabouts of our old “62” classmates. Bill Collins, we found, is working in the Eastern section of Wisconsin, perfect- ing a school for perfect students. Donnie Kaus and Rodney Klipstein are pilot and co-pilot respectively on a new airline known as TPA—Trans Planet Airlines—owned and operated by Gerald Knudtson. Doug and Dennis Spencer own a string of fishing harbors along the Baraboo Creek—they also grow their own worms—on a fertilizer perfected by John Zinke. Virginia Maxwell signed up with Rubinoff’s Concert after graduation . . . They have a new piano player—Marvin Triebs ... Rubinoff has retired because of a headache. Jim Schauer is working on his Dad’s farm experimenting with different kinds of corn. Carol Solchenberger is married and has four of the cutest, but roughest, boys on the block, two of which are twins. Barb Egan, editor of the Women’s Magazine of Cosmetics, features Helen Schulz as her cover girl Eliot Ness has finally caught up with “Capone Stehr, or Dick, as we knew him. Marge Nelson, a beautician of Elizabeth Arden’s” in Chicago, specializes in permanent waves for men. Mike Mashak’s Meat Market, Inc., features meats from around the world. Also in the meat business—although at the other end of it is Rudy Wopat—he makes hot dogs. Judy Hemerley is our good will ambassador to Russia . . . We are now on the verge of World War III. Dick Bunk is Mr. U. S. Astronaut-he always was one to get away from it all! Norville Wildes is a professor of the languages. He is going to master English first and then work himself up. Donna Rhadans is running Rhadan’s Airport with great satisfaction. One of her best customers is Peter Toppen, who just bought a whirlybird. Diane Ormson and Irene Gschwendner have improved the substance called “laughing gas”. They don’t need it, but the “lonely hearts” club has made very good use of it. Walter Schultz is a dietician at Madison General Hospital. His motto being “Do as I say, not as I do.” Barb Beeman is the calorie counter for the new T. V. program called “Weight- Watching Cuties.” Bruce Young is the new star of the sensational T. V. program “Out of It.” It is produced and directed by Rodney Hansen—who succeeds the late Rod Serling. Mari McCaskev is a secretary for Thu row Motors in Wilton. Jay Buswell writes a weekly lovelorn column in the Elroy Leader-Tribune. Larry Grilley is a professional card dealer in one of the big gambling casinos out west. 30 Jeannie Zingsheim is married and living in Reno, Nevada. Just recently, Linda Schweiger visited her to settle a problem —she had too much money to burn. She burned, it and now is going home to mother. Tom Smith is a doctor of science. His latest experiment was a time machine. Charlene Kranz was last seen walking into this contraption. What a break for future generations! Mick Greene grows herbs for women’s perfumes, which he sells door to door. LeRoy Raiten is a bird caller for Mr. Wilson on Dennis the Menace. Ronnie Keown plays the trombone for Lawrence Welk. Also interested in the “champagne” end of it are Ronnie and Leland Vieth. Jerry Brand was working in Africa—until the natives put him in a pot to boil him—Dr. Robert Heiking happened to be in the neighborhood and rescued him. Sandy Leek runs a dress shoppe on Fifth Avenue, New York. Jeanette Higginbotham works as a coffee bean sorter for Hills Brothers. Judi Hopinkah squashes grapes in Italy’s finest vineyards. Leonard Duckworth is M. C. of the television program “To Tell a Lie.” He rose to this position through many years of hard work. Mrs. Norton eventually found it necessary to retire-due to this vacancy in the teaching staff, John Brunner felt it his duty to fill it. Dean Jaech, chemist for the Hillsboro Hospital, was found to be the chief insti- gator in the explosion of the drainage system. It seems he “flushed” a cherry bomb down the pipe in one of the bathrooms. Pat Koca has formed a new' bottling company called “Cola-Koca.” John Rabuck is truant officer for the old Royall High school. Caroline Leverenz has taken over Marian Lome’s job on the Garry Moore show. Frieda Zieze and Betty Skailand are both married and living in Australia. They both work part time in a zoo, tending the kangaroos. Mary Pearsall works as a “twister” for Sunbeam’s soft-twist bread. David Orme is over in Africa picking African Violets, which he sells for com- mercial use. Carol Schultz performs experiments to test the soft-strength of Kleenex. Dick Stickney is manager for the famous team of basketball players, called the Harlem Doodle-bugs. Calvin Nelson is their referee. The voice over the loud speaker echoed “Attention all passengers, please fasten your safety belts, we are coming in for a landing!” After saying goodbye to Nan- cy and Jim, I made my way off the plane. If you’re wondering who I am-Fm Suzi Dwyer-and as for what I’m doing- I’m awfully glad I’m done. 31 The ictioiu] to«€V Belele le chunk of northeast Africa, ft Grlfin fells ft.
